Head of Engineering - ITDubaiEmirati with family.bookWe are seeking an experienced Head of Engineering (IT Department) to lead a high-performing engineering organization and drive technology strategy, software architecture, engineering excellence, and scalable product delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesDefine and execute the engineering strategy, aligned with business objectives and product roadmaps.Lead multiple engineering teams across software development, architecture, DevOps and technical delivery.Own technical decisions around scalable, high-performance and secure software architecture.Establish and enforce coding, architecture, engineering quality and technical governance standards.Partner closely with Product, UX, DevOps, Security and senior leadership to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.Drive modernization, legacy system transformation, refactoring and technical debt reduction.Ensure system reliability, availability, performance monitoring and operational excellence.Embed security, authentication, access control, data protection and compliance across engineering practices.Lead engineering managers and technical leaders through mentorship, performance management and organizational development.Manage engineering budgets, resources, risks and strategic planning.Must-Have Experience & Skills10+ years of software/engineering experience, with 5+ years in senior engineering leadership/management.Proven experience leading large, multi-disciplinary engineering teams.Strong understanding of security, compliance and technology governance.Experience with strategic planning, budgeting, resource allocation and organizational development.Excellent executive communication, stakeholder management, problem-solving and decision-making skills.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.Experience in:Software Architecture & System DesignScalable & Distributed SystemsSoftware Development & Engineering PracticesDevOps & Modern SDLCCloud / Modern Technology PlatformsApplication & System SecurityPerformance, Reliability & High AvailabilityLegacy Modernization & Technical Debt Management
