Head of Engineering - Upto 125K EUR

I'm currently working on behalf of a leading marketplace e-commerce business offering over 10m products globally.At the moment, we are looking for top performers to lead an engineering department (20 people, x3 teams). Ideally, people who are experienced in web platforms (ideally some form of a marketplace or eCommerce)The main responsibilities would be:Overseeing an engineering department of 20+ people and being responsible for coaching & mentoring technical team leads.Work closely with the Director of Engineering and CTO to oversee the optimal use of resources across cross-functional teams, monitor & improve performance & set best-practice definitions.Responsible for the secure operation and further development of the platform / online shopCollaborate with other stakeholders across various business units to drive transparency.You will have a significant impact on the business by defining and improving the existing and future software engineering team and agile team setups. Inspiring the team to grow more self-organised, setting up technical roadmaps and supporting the Director of Engineering in developing the technology strategy.The basic requirements are as follows:Strong track record of people leadership & coaching qualities in an agile and digital environment - ideally, larger engineering teams 20+Know how to shape a software engineering department on the cultural, practice and process level.Strong Engineering Background, with 8+ years of experience. Ideally having worked with Java.Strong practical experience in establishing Architecture, Quality & Security processesDeep understanding of Agile Scaling FrameworksFluent English.
