appointment a Head of Finance to be based in Dubai and work closely alongside the executive leadership team.This is an opportunity for a senior finance professional to take ownership of the company's corporate finance and accounting function in Dubai, working within an international shipping environment and supporting the executive team across financial reporting, controls, governance and strategic financial matters.The role is primarily focused on corporate accounting and finance, therefore a strong understanding of the shipping industry and its specific financial, accounting and reporting requirements is essential.The successful candidate will become a key member of the Dubai-based leadership structure, working closely with senior management and international finance stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and oversee the corporate finance and accounting function from Dubai.Take ownership of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting.Oversee management accounts, statutory reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.Ensure appropriate financial controls, accounting policies and governance frameworks are maintained.Work closely with the executive team on financial performance, reporting and decision-making.Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisers, banks and other professional advisers.Oversee cash flow, working capital and treasury-related matters.Support the executive team with financial planning and strategic analysis.Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, statutory requirements and group policies.Work closely with the existing international finance team and coordinate effectively across different jurisdictions.Review and improve financial processes, systems and internal controls as the Dubai platform develops.Provide senior-level financial insight and challenge to the executive leadership team.Support corporate transactions and other strategic initiatives where required.Act as a senior finance representative of the business with external stakeholders.Shipping Industry ExperienceThe successful candidate should have a strong understanding of the commercial and financial environment within shipping, ideally gained within a shipowner, ship operator, maritime group or closely related shipping business.Relevant understanding may include:Shipping company accounting and reporting structuresVessel-owning / asset-based businessesShipping-related corporate structures and entitiesVessel-related financial reporting and cost considerationsCash flow and working-capital requirements within shippingBanking and financial relationships within the maritime sectorUnderstanding of the financial implications of vessel ownership and fleet activityInternational / multi-jurisdictional shipping businessesCandidates should be comfortable operating within a shipping environment and understanding the industry's specific financial requirements.Candidate ProfileThe ideal candidate will have:Significant experience in senior finance and accounting roles, ideally at Head of Finance, Finance Director, Financial Controller or equivalent level.Strong technical accounting and corporate finance experience.Previous experience within shipping, maritime, ship owning, ship management or a closely related asset-based environment.Strong knowledge of financial reporting, controls, governance and statutory accounting.Experience working directly with senior executives / C-suite stakeholders.Strong commercial awareness and the ability to translate financial information into meaningful business insight.Experience managing or coordinating finance teams across multiple jurisdictions.Strong stakeholder-management skills, including experience with auditors, banks, advisers and other external parties.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to operate independently and take ownership of the
