Head of Fleet

JOB PURPOSEThe Head of Fleet is responsible for the strategic and operational management of a fleet across SIXT Rent A Car, GCR Leasing and SIXT Limo.The role owns the complete fleet lifecycle, from procurement and fleet planning through to utilisation, maintenance, compliance, lifecycle optimisation, remarketing and disposal. The objective is to maximise fleet profitability, improve operational efficiency, reduce cost and ensure the fleet supports the commercial growth of the business. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESFleet StrategyDevelop and execute the fleet strategy across all business lines. Optimise fleet mix, utilisation and lifecycle planning. Align fleet capacity with business demand and growth. Procurement & CommercialLead vehicle purchasing and supplier negotiations. Build strategic OEM relationships. Deliver competitive commercial agreements and maximise return on fleet investment. Fleet OperationsLead all fleet operations, ensuring maximum vehicle availability and utilisation. Oversee maintenance, repairs, registration, compliance and operational readiness. Drive standardisation and continuous improvement across the fleet function. Fleet PerformanceOwn fleet KPIs including utilisation, downtime, maintenance cost, damage, depreciation and profitability. Identify efficiencies, reduce operating costs and improve overall fleet performance. Deliver data-driven reporting and recommendations to the General Manager. Vehicle LifecycleDevelop fleet cycling and replacement strategies. Maximise residual values through effective remarketing and disposal. Work closely with Operations, Sales and Finance to optimise asset performance. LeadershipLead and develop the Fleet function, including:Fleet Managers Fleet Supervisor Fleet Maintenance & Repair Teams Fleet Cycling Team Registration Coordinator Fleet Coordinators Driver Teams Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, innovation and continuous improvement.EXPERIENCEEssentialMinimum 5 years' experience within the car rental industry, with direct responsibility for fleet and operations. Applications without relevant car rental experience will not be considered. Head of Rental candidates with significant fleet and operational experience will also be considered. Proven experience leading large fleet operations and multi-site teams. Strong commercial, analytical and financial acumen. Must have full understand and knowledge of government regulations and process within vehicle management.DesirableExperience managing fleets exceeding 5,000 vehicles. Experience working with OEMs, leasing or mobility businesses.
