We’re Hiring: Head of General Insurance (Underwriting & Claims)Are you an experienced General Insurance leader with strong expertise across underwriting and claims? We are seeking a Head of General Insurance (Underwriting & Claims) to lead our General Insurance technical operations, strengthen underwriting discipline, enhance claims performance, and drive sustainable portfolio profitability.About the Role:The Head of General Insurance (Underwriting & Claims) is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership across General Insurance underwriting and claims activities. The role ensures effective risk selection, appropriate pricing, efficient claims management, portfolio profitability, and compliance with ACIG policies and the regulatory requirements of the Saudi Insurance Authority.The position works closely with Sales, Reinsurance, Actuarial, Risk Management, Finance, and other relevant functions to ensure that business growth is supported by sound technical practices and effective management of insurance risks.Key Responsibilities:Lead and oversee General Insurance underwriting and claims operations.Develop and implement underwriting and claims strategies aligned with the Company’s business objectives and risk appetite.Ensure effective risk assessment, risk selection, pricing, policy terms, and underwriting controls across General Insurance lines.Monitor portfolio performance, premium growth, loss ratios, claims trends, and profitability and initiate appropriate corrective actions.Oversee claims management to ensure fair, accurate, and timely assessment and settlement of claims.Establish and maintain appropriate underwriting authorities, guidelines, claims controls, and operating procedures.Work closely with Reinsurance to ensure appropriate risk retention, capacity, and reinsurance protection.Collaborate with Sales and Broker Relationship teams to support profitable business growth while maintaining underwriting discipline.Monitor large and complex risks and claims and provide technical guidance on significant cases.Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and applicable insurance standards.Prepare technical and portfolio performance reports for senior management.Lead, coach, and develop the General Insurance underwriting and claims teams to strengthen technical capability and performance. Qualifications & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.Master’s Degree, MBA, EMBA, or other relevant postgraduate qualification is an advantage.Professional insurance qualifications such as ACII, CPCU, or equivalent are preferred.Minimum 10 years of experience in General Insurance underwriting and/or claims, with , including at least 5 years in leadership role.Strong technical knowledge of General Insurance products, underwriting, claims management, reinsurance, and portfolio management.Strong understanding of the Saudi insurance market and applicable regulatory requirements.Proven experience managing technical teams and driving portfolio performance. Key Competencies:Strategic LeadershipUnderwriting & Claims ExpertiseCommercial AcumenPortfolio & Risk ManagementAnalytical ThinkingDecision MakingStakeholder ManagementPeople LeadershipProblem SolvingResults OrientationIf you are an experienced General Insurance leader with strong underwriting and claims expertise and a passion for driving profitable and sustainable business performance, we invite you to apply and become part of our team.
