Head of High School Section

The Head of High School provides academic, pastoral and operational leadership for the High School section at Elite Private School, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning, student achievement, behaviour, wellbeing and staff performance. The role works closely with the Principal, Vice Principals, SLT and Heads/Leads to ensure the section operates in line with EPS expectations, ADEK requirements and the School’s American curriculum framework.The Head of High School will:Lead the day-to-day academic and pastoral operation of the High School section and maintain a visible leadership presence with students and staff.Monitor teaching quality, curriculum implementation, assessment and student progress, using data to identify gaps and drive improvement.Ensure appropriate preparation and academic support for external assessments, examinations, graduation requirements and university/career pathways.Lead and hold teachers accountable for performance, lesson quality, student outcomes, attendance, punctuality and professional responsibilities.Conduct classroom observations, learning walks and performance follow-ups and provide clear feedback and improvement actions.Maintain high standards of student behaviour, attendance, safeguarding and wellbeing, working closely with Pastoral and relevant SLT members.Work with subject Leads/Heads to ensure effective curriculum planning, intervention, enrichment and appropriate academic challenge.Ensure the section is fully prepared for ADEK inspections, accreditation, compliance reviews and other external requirements.Support effective timetabling, teacher allocation, cover arrangements and utilization of teaching staff.Maintain professional and constructive communication with parents and manage escalated academic or student concerns appropriately.Support Grade 12 students, graduation, university readiness and transition beyond school.Develop a positive High School culture based on accountability, consistency, teamwork and high expectations.Provide regular reports and recommendations to the Principal/SLT on section performance, risks, staffing requirements and areas for improvement.The position requires a strong and visible school leader who can balance academic leadership with student management and operational responsibility. The successful candidate should be confident in holding both staff and students accountable while building a positive, high-performing High School culture.
