Head of Industrial Operations

The Head of Industrial Operations, reporting into the CEO, will serve as the executive leader responsible for managing and growing Group's Industrial Manufacturing portfolio, including cables, copper manufacturing, construction materials, concrete products, pipe manufacturing, structural steel, maritime transportation, industrial investments, and emerging energy businesses.The role carries full responsibility for strategy, operations, commercial performance, P&L, business development, governance, and stakeholder management across the industrial sector portfolio. Position is based in Qatar.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic LeadershipDevelop and execute the long-term growth strategy for Group's Industrial Manufacturing and Energy businesses.Drive diversification initiatives, business expansion, acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships.Identify new market opportunities aligned with Qatar's industrial and energy development objectives.Support board and executive leadership in strategic planning and portfolio optimization.Business & P&L ManagementOwn revenue, profitability, EBITDA, cash flow, and overall financial performance of the Industrial Operations portfolio.Develop annual budgets, business plans, forecasts, and investment proposals.Monitor and improve operational and financial KPIs across all business units.Drive shareholder value through sustainable growth and operational excellence.Portfolio LeadershipWorking with the CEO of the Group to provide executive oversight across the portfolio in Cable Manufacturing, Drums, copper manufacturing, cement manufacturing, pipe and casting companies, steel Manufacturing.Manufacturing & Operational ExcellenceLead manufacturing, production, engineering, maintenance, quality, and logistics functions.Implement Lean Manufacturing, Industry 4.0, digital transformation, and continuous improvement initiatives.Optimize plant utilization, production capacity, asset performance, and operational efficiency.Establish robust KPI frameworks for productivity, quality, and cost control.Energy & Industrial GrowthLead the development and growth of Energy sector.Identify opportunities in energy services, industrial infrastructure, power transmission, renewable energy, and oil & gas support services.Build strategic relationships with major clients, NOCs, EPC contractors, utilities, and government stakeholders.Commercial & Business DevelopmentDevelop commercial strategies to increase market share across Qatar and the GCC.Lead major contract negotiations and strategic customer engagements.Support tendering, bid management, contract execution, and customer retention.Expand export opportunities and regional business partnerships.Supply Chain & ProcurementDevelop group-wide procurement and sourcing strategies.Optimize sourcing of copper, steel, aggregates, cementitious materials, cables, and industrial equipment.Strengthen supply chain resilience and inventory management.Improve logistics, warehousing, and import/export operations.Maritime OperationsOversee maritime transportation assets and vessel operations.Ensure commercial utilization, maintenance, safety, and compliance of marine assets.Evaluate opportunities to expand logistics and shipping capabilities.Joint Venture & Stakeholder ManagementManage relationships with local and international JV partners.Lead board-level presentations and shareholder engagements.Ensure alignment between JV performance, strategic objectives, and governance requirements.Health, Safety, Quality & EnvironmentChampion a world-class HSE culture across all industrial businesses.Ensure compliance with Qatar regulations, ISO standards, and corporate governance requirements.Lead risk management, audit readiness, and business continuity planning.Drive quality and operational assurance programs.Sustainability & InnovationPromote sustainable manufacturing practices.Drive adoption of green concrete, environmentally responsible materials, and energy-efficient technologies.Lead ESG and carbon reduction initiatives.Introduce innovation and automation programs across the portfolio.Leadership & Talent DevelopmentBuild and lead high-performing multidisciplinary teams.Establish succession planning and leadership development programs.Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Coach and mentor senior management teams across business units.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, Operations Management, or related discipline.MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification preferred.Professional certifications in Business Management, Operations, or Project Management are advantageous.Experience20+ years of experience in industrial manufacturing, engineering, infrastructure, energy, construction materials, or heavy industry sectors.Minimum 10 years in senior executive leadership roles with full P&L responsibility.Proven experience managing multi-company industrial portfolios.Strong track record in business transformation, operational excellence, and strategic growth.GCC and Qatar market experience preferred.Experience working with boards, shareholders, government agencies, and strategic partners.
