Head of Operations

Twelve Data is a financial market data platform. One API gives developers, fintechs, and trading teams real-time and historical data across stocks, forex, crypto, ETFs, indices, and fundamentals, over REST and WebSocket.We cover 50+ exchanges and process about 1 billion requests a day. Over 70,000 active users rely on us. Most find us, sign up, and start building without ever talking to sales, so the product does the selling: fast, reliable data, clear docs, and pricing that makes sense.The team comes from quantitative trading and AI/ML. We're bootstrapped and self-funded, with no investors setting the pace. We're a distributed team of 20. Everyone owns real parts of the product, and the work you ship reaches users the same week.We're opening a hub in Dubai, where the founder and core team will work. This role is based there. We are looking for an operations leader who can build processes, manage a team, make decisions under uncertainty, and take responsibility for them. Someone who will manage, not someone who waits for instructions. The founder stays with the company and leads strategy and partnerships.What tasks await you:Operations managementYou will take over company operations: processes, finance, legal, administration, and work with contractors. Your goal is to build a system where the company runs without the founder's daily involvement. For the first months, you will work closely with the founder: absorb context, understand the details, build trust. Then operations gradually move to you. You will make this transition smooth and painless for the company and the team.Quick winsYou will identify and implement improvements that deliver results without major investment. This includes launching a Customer Success function, optimizing roadmaps, and streamlining how the team plans and prioritizes work.Internal efficiencyYou will make the company work efficiently: find bottlenecks, eliminate them, measure results. Build a system where teams interact without unnecessary bureaucracy and decisions are made quickly.MarketingYou are strong in marketing and will do this work yourself first, building the function from the ground up. You will hire people once the need arises.Team and cultureYou will manage the team: hire, develop, retain strong people. Build a culture where people work effectively and own results.StrategyYou will participate in strategic decisions: where the company is heading, which products to develop, how to allocate resources. The founder remains a partner in strategy and partnerships, but operational decisions will be yours.We expect that you:Have experience managing a company or a large business unit: COO, Operations Director, Managing Director, or a similar roleCan build processes from scratch and scale themHave experience managing a team and hiring strong peopleUnderstand finance: budgeting, unit economics, cost managementHave experience in B2B or SaaS, understand how sales and partnerships workCan make decisions under uncertainty and take responsibility for themTake ownership: you don't wait for instructions, you see a problem and fix it, you act like an ownerFluent English (C1 or above) — English is our working language; you will use it daily for negotiations, documentation, and cross-functional communication across a multinational team.Nice to have:Experience in fintech, knowledge of financial data marketsExperience working with investorsWhat we offer:Office in Dubai.
