Head of Operations

SmallClaims is a legal tech company that recovers small, valid claims of up to €25,000 through the courts. Claims that businesses write off today because pursuing them costs more than they are worth. Our AI agents run the whole process, from legal assessment and settlement to filing, judgment and enforcement, while our in-house lawyers quality-assure the work and appear in court. That has cut manual case handling from over 15 hours to about 1.5 hours per case. We have handled 5,000+ cases, win 90%+ in court and serve 500+ Danish customers. Case intake has grown more than 370% since 2023, and we have just raised €2M from Vendep Capital to grow in Europe. Now we are building the management team that will take us there.THE ROLEYou will be the person who makes the machine run. You own our numbers, our operational procedures and the operational side of every new market we open. You work side by side with the CEO on running the company, and with the CTO on the product, turning what our case managers and customers need into what our AI platform does next. Your job is to streamline how every department works, from case management and customer success to sales, so the whole company runs on clear processes and clear numbers.WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Set up and own the KPIs and operational procedures for every department, from case management and customer success to sales, and the monthly reporting the board follows.
• Streamline case management through clear operational procedures: capacity planning, quality and throughput, so we keep win rates and recovery high while volume grows many times over.
• Work closely with the CTO on product: map how cases really flow, decide what to automate next and make sure new features land in daily operations.
• Run the operational side of our European expansion: market-entry playbook, native-language case teams, legal partners and the setup needed to go live in more European countries.
• Be the CEO’s right hand on budget, forecasting and planning, and help prepare the numbers for our next funding round.YOUR FIRST YEAR
• Within 2 months: You know every department, how cases flow through the platform and where the bottlenecks are. The KPI framework is in place, every department reports its core KPIs monthly, and you and the CTO have a fixed rhythm for deciding what we automate next.
• Within 3 months: Together with the CEO, you have built a clear playbook for a repeatable engine for scaling and sales, both inbound and outbound.
• Within 9 months: We are fully rolled out in three European markets, with a market-entry playbook we can repeat in the next one. Every department runs on documented procedures that scale with volume.
• Within 12 months: We make decisions based on data, on the foundation you helped build, that lift our revenue right away. We understand every part of our business down to the smallest detail and use it actively on our way to €100M in ARR.WHO YOU ARE
• Experience from a software company is a must. You know how product, engineering and operations work together.
• Very strong with numbers and data. You build the model, set up the KPIs and turn the data into decisions.
• Strong product sense. You can sit with a CTO, understand a software platform and challenge what gets built.
• Solid operational experience. You might be a Head of Operations or COO today, or a CFO or Head of Finance who has been deep in running the business, not only reporting on it.
• Experience with international expansion, opening new markets or scaling a team is a clear plus.
• Hands-on and structured. You enjoy building the processes yourself in a small, fast-moving team.
• Fluent English. Danish or other European languages are a plus.WHAT WE OFFER
