Company Background:A SFC-licensed investment bank in Hong Kong (Types 1, 4, 6 & 9), backed by a major Chinese state-owned banking group. The firm provides a full suite of services across Investment Banking (IBD), Debt Capital Markets (DCM), Equity Capital Markets (ECM), Corporate Finance, and Global Markets.Responsibility:Lead and supervise the daily operations of the department, ensuring efficient and accurate clearing and settlement services for securities, corporate finance, and related businesses in Hong KongProvide operational support to Global Markets activities, with a primary focus on bonds/FICC products.Monitor and control operational risks, and effectively manage contingency situations and exceptional casesEnsure all operational procedures and activities fully comply with SFC regulatory requirements and internal policiesContinuously review and enhance operational workflows to maintain accuracy, integrity, and efficiencyDevelop, implement, and maintain internal operational policies and procedures covering dealing, risk control, and settlementEstablish and maintain clear escalation and reporting frameworks to enable timely communication of operational and risk issues to different levels of managementLead the formulation of business requirements for system development and enhancement projectsDrive process re-engineering and operational reviews across key activitiesDesign and implement new operational processes to support new business initiativesInvestigate settlement discrepancies and resolve related outstanding issues in a timely mannerEstablish and regularly update daily policies and procedures to sustain the efficiency of the back-office functionConduct stress testing and risk evaluations in support of business line expansionManage operational readiness and support for IPO and other primary market transactionsRequirement:Degree holder in a related disciplineMinimum 8 years of relevant experience in operations / clearing & settlement within the securities or investment banking industryAt least 3 years of management experienceSolid knowledge of electronic settlement systems, including CCASS, CMU, Euroclear, and SWIFTStrong understanding of the Hong Kong securities market environment and SFC regulatory requirementsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, with fluency in written and spoken Chinese (Mandarin)
