Head of Platform

Role SummaryThe Head of Platform will own the strategy, design, and operational excellence of MiraiCyber’s core platform layer. This role exists to build the technical foundation that enables product innovation, enterprise scalability, secure integrations, and dependable platform performance.The Head of Platform will work across engineering, product, and security to ensure the platform is resilient, extensible, and optimized for long-term growth, while improving the delivery speed and stability of the overall technology organization.Key Responsibilities• Define and own the platform roadmap, platform architecture, and foundational service strategy.• Build reusable services, shared capabilities, APIs, and integration patterns.• Ensure high availability, observability, resilience, and performance across platform systems.• Improve operational maturity through automation, monitoring, alerting, and incident management.• Establish and maintain platform standards for APIs, service ownership, release readiness, and documentation.• Partner with product teams to enable faster delivery through well-designed platform primitives.• Work with security and engineering teams to ensure secure-by-design implementation.• Support enterprise onboarding, customer-specific integrations, and platform extensibility.• Track platform health, technical debt, dependency risk, and execution progress.• Contribute to hiring, mentoring, and capability building within platform engineering.Decision Authority• Owns platform design standards and prioritization within the approved roadmap.• Recommends platform technology choices, integration frameworks, and reliability improvements.• Escalates systemic platform issues that affect security, customer experience, or scalability.Key Success Metrics• Platform uptime and service reliability.• Speed of enabling new product capabilities.• Reduction in platform incidents and recurring defects.• Integration success rate and onboarding efficiency.• Engineering team adoption of platform standards.Required Qualifications• 8+ years of progressive experience in platform engineering, backend systems, infrastructure, or technical operations.• At least 3–5 years in a senior platform, infrastructure, or engineering leadership role.• Experience working in SaaS, cloud, enterprise software, or cybersecurity environments.• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, reliability, APIs, cloud services, and operational excellence.• Proven ability to work across engineering, product, and security teams.• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Preferred Qualifications• Experience building enterprise-scale platform foundations.• Exposure to AI, cybersecurity, or automation platforms.• Strong understanding of developer experience, service governance, and technical enablement.Leadership Competencies• Platform ownership.• Reliability thinking.• Cross-functional collaboration.• Execution under ambiguity.• Continuous improvement.• Technical communication.
