Head of PMOLocation: Gerrards Cross Office - 2/3 days per weekSalary: £80-90k + BenefitsType: PermanentNo Sponsorship AvailableOverview:We are seeking an experienced Head of PMO to lead the PMO through a major business transformation. You will help an ambitious technology organisation improve how it plans, prioritises, governs and delivers strategic change. This is a chance to build a modern, commercially focused PMO. You will give leaders clear visibility across the portfolio, simplify governance and help teams adopt new ways of working as AI and automation become part of day-to-day delivery.The Role:You will own and develop the PMO function, creating an operating model that supports pace, sound decisions and accountability. You will work closely with senior Product and Technology leaders to align initiatives with business priorities and manage the people and capability changes needed for successful AI adoption.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and develop the PMO function, building a lean operating model aligned with the organisation’s growth and transformation plans.Provide executive oversight of portfolio progress, priorities, dependencies, risks, resources and financials.Establish clear, reliable reporting that helps senior leaders make timely decisions.Simplify existing governance and apply controls proportionate to each initiative’s scale, risk and uncertainty.Create an effective intake and prioritisation process for new projects and programmes.Support delivery approaches that allow teams to experiment, learn and adapt quickly.Help shape how teams use AI tools, copilots and automation in their work.Lead the organisational and behavioural change needed to make new ways of working successful.Partner with Product and Technology leadership to identify future skills and capability needs.Build and develop a PMO team with a strong sense of ownership, pace and continuous improvement.About You:You will be an established PMO or transformation leader who is comfortable working in a fast-moving, technology-led organisation. You will bring:Significant experience leading a PMO, portfolio function or enterprise transformation office.A track record of establishing governance and portfolio reporting across complex programmes.Experience building PMO capability or bringing clarity to fragmented delivery environments.Experience designing project intake, prioritisation and governance processes.A practical understanding of Agile and traditional delivery methods, with the judgement to choose what fits each initiative.Experience leading or supporting significant organisational and behavioural change.Confidence working with C-suite and senior leaders, including constructively challenging priorities.A strong understanding of the opportunities AI and automation create, and an interest in how they will change skills, structures and ways of working.The Opportunity:You will have the mandate to reshape the PMO and influence how the organisation delivers its next phase of growth.
