Build the team that defends it.An early-stage aerospace company backed by serious capital is building a next-generation electric aircraft from the ground up. This is greenfield. No legacy systems, no inherited assumptions, no safety case someone else already wrote. You are being hired to own the entire product safety function and build the team around it.You define the aircraft safety methodology from concept through certification. You lead the Functional Hazard Assessments, the Preliminary System Safety Assessments, the System Safety Assessments. You classify failure conditions, allocate safety objectives across every aircraft system, and own the hazard log end to end. Fault Tree Analysis, FMEA, Common Cause Analysis, Zonal Safety Analysis, this is your suite to run, not administer. You sit close to Systems, Software and Avionics, folding cybersecurity into the safety process rather than treating it as a separate conversation. And when the programme needs someone in the room with certification authorities defending the case, that's you too.We're looking for 12 to 15 plus years in aircraft or system safety engineering, with genuine depth in ARP4754 and ARP4761, not just familiarity with the acronyms. You've led safety assessments on civil certification programmes, you know how to allocate Development Assurance Levels, and you've stood in front of a regulator and made the case hold. A degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Electrical or Systems Engineering is expected, a postgraduate qualification helps.Experience with eVTOL or Advanced Air Mobility, electric or hybrid propulsion, high-voltage battery safety or cyber-physical safety will stand out. So will exposure to DO-326A, DO-178C, DO-254, DO-160, MBSE or MBSA. You think in integrated systems, not isolated components. You manage risk with discipline, not optimism. And you have the thick skin and steady hand to build a safety culture from nothing, then lead the team that carries it forward.Based in Dubai, full-time.
