Head of Public Relations – International OperationsLondon | Hybrid | International remitMy client is a leading professional services PLC with a significant international presence and ambitious plans for continued growth across Europe and wider global markets.They are looking for an experienced Head of Public Relations to take ownership of the international PR agenda, strengthen corporate reputation and increase the organisation’s profile across key markets.This is an exciting opportunity for a senior PR leader who enjoys combining strategic leadership with hands-on delivery. You will lead an international team of PR professionals, help shape and expand the function, and work closely with senior stakeholders across multiple countries and time zones.The OpportunityYou will take a leading role in shaping how the organisation is positioned externally across its international markets. Working closely with senior executives, country leaders and wider marketing and communications teams, you will develop PR programmes that are globally aligned but locally relevant.A key part of the role will be developing the international PR function and team, building capability, identifying future requirements and creating an environment where people can perform and develop.You will also be expected to remain close to the work. This is not a purely strategic leadership position; you will personally contribute to campaigns, media relations, thought leadership and senior-level communications.Your ResponsibilitiesInternational PR & ReputationOwn the international PR strategy across multiple markets, with a particular focus on Europe.Develop campaigns that strengthen corporate reputation, brand visibility and thought leadership.Adapt global messaging for different markets, audiences and cultural environments.Identify emerging trends, stories and opportunities that can generate meaningful media coverage.Lead communications planning around sensitive issues and reputational matters.Media & External CommunicationsBuild strong relationships with national, business and trade media across international markets.Lead proactive and reactive media relations and identify opportunities for executive visibility.Develop press materials, commentary, bylines and thought leadership campaigns.Work with content and marketing teams to turn research, data and insight into compelling external stories.Provide media training and coaching to senior leaders.Leadership & Team GrowthLead, motivate and develop an international PR team of approximately 5–10 people.Expand and shape the team as the international function grows, identifying capability gaps and future hiring requirements.Set clear direction while encouraging creativity, collaboration and accountability.Be a hands-on leader, actively contributing to PR campaigns and delivery rather than operating purely at a strategic level.Establish effective ways of working and share best practice across international markets.Senior Stakeholder & International CollaborationAct as a trusted PR adviser to senior executives, Managing Directors and country leaders.Build strong relationships across international teams and work effectively across different cultures and time zones.Partner with marketing, internal communications and wider corporate functions to ensure consistent external messaging.Work alongside global communications colleagues to maximise opportunities across international markets.Agency & Budget ManagementManage relationships with PR agencies, consultants and other external partners.Oversee budgets, performance and delivery to ensure strong value and quality.Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the international PR function.What We're Looking ForWe are looking for an established PR leader who can operate confidently at both strategic and operational level.You will ideally bring:10+ years' experience in PR, corporate communications or a related discipline.Significant experience leading PR across multiple international markets, particularly Europe.Experience within professional services, B2B, corporate or PLC environments.A proven track record of managing, mentoring and growing PR teams and functions.Strong relationships across business, national and trade media.Experience across executive communications, thought leadership and reputation management.The ability to operate as a hands-on leader who is comfortable getting into the detail when required.Excellent writing, communication and stakeholder management skills.Strong commercial awareness and the ability to understand and respond to business priorities.The confidence to influence senior stakeholders across different countries and cultures.Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities across international time zones.Fluent English; additional European language skills would be advantageous.A degree in PR, Communications, Journalism, Marketing or a related discipline is preferred.International travel will be required as part of the role.
