About UsWe are an expanding securities firm in Hong Kong, building a sell‑side research franchise to serve local institutional investors. We are establishing a new research department and need a leader to build, shape, and run the entire platform.The RoleYou will be the founding Head of Research. Your core mission:Recruit and lead a team of analysts covering Fixed Income, Macroeconomics, and Equities.Deliver high‑quality, actionable research (reports, daily comments, thematic pieces) to Hong Kong institutional clients.Drive client engagement – present ideas, respond to queries, and host briefings – all in fluent Chinese.Set coverage strategy, define research priorities, and ensure our product stands out in the local market.Maintain full SFC compliance and uphold Chinese Wall standards.This is a hands‑on leadership role – you will both manage and contribute to research output, while building the team from the ground up. The position is fully on‑site in our Central office.What We’re Looking ForExperience: 5–10 years of sell‑side equity research (or related sell‑side experience), with at least 2–3 years in a team leadership/mentoring capacity. Experience across multiple asset classes (FI, macro, equities) is a strong plus.Team‑building: You have successfully hired, trained, or scaled a research team – or can demonstrate a clear plan to do so.Local client knowledge: Deep understanding of Hong Kong institutional investors – their needs, decision‑making, and preferences.Language: Native or professional proficiency in Chinese (Mandarin essential; Cantonese preferred) – you will write and present in Chinese daily.
