Apply & track with Apply EdgeAbout UsWe're ClosedWon Talent, a sales and go-to-market recruiting agency that specializes in working with fast-growing startups. If you're exploring your next move, we might have just the opportunity for you, including this one.About Our ClientThis startup runs one of the leading GPU compute marketplaces, connecting AI researchers, startups, and enterprises with GPU capacity from a distributed network of independent hosts and data centers. As a two-sided platform, it sells to companies that need compute and also partners with data centers that supply it. Demand for GPUs is accelerating, the company is growing quickly, and the product offering is expanding. The company is headquartered in Los Angeles, has a second office in San Francisco, and has about 40 employees.About the RoleThey are hiring their first Head of Sales to lead and scale the team that sells both sides of the marketplace. You'll report directly to the COO and start by leading two experienced, quota-carrying reps: one focused on enterprise demand (companies renting compute) and one focused on strategic supply (data centers bringing capacity onto the platform). The revenue engine and team are already in place, the pipeline is strong, and the company has already passed its bookings goal for the year. Your job is to turn an early, working sales motion into a repeatable operating system and grow it aggressively. This is a player-coach role. Most of your time will go to coaching and developing reps, running sales operations, and building the tools, processes, and incentive structures the team needs to scale. You'll also own a small book of strategic and brokered accounts yourself, with an emphasis on the supply side, where deals are more complex and harder to source. Demand deals typically close in two to three months and center on pricing and contract terms, while supply relationships work more like key account management. You'll have real ownership. The company has limited sales ops support today, so you'll evaluate and choose the sales tool stack, tighten HubSpot discipline and forecasting, design commission and quota structures, and tell leadership what the team needs to succeed, including the hires that come next. Over the next 12 to 18 months, you'll decide on team structure and hire to match growth. The role is onsite five days a week in Los Angeles. Travel is mainly to industry conferences, since most customer deals are handled remotely. What You'll DoCoach and develop the existing demand and supply reps, which will take up most of your time.Hire, onboard, and ramp new reps as headcount grows with revenue.Run day-to-day sales operations, including pipeline hygiene, forecasting, and CRM discipline in HubSpot.Select and own a lean, high-signal sales tool stack.Design and manage commission structures, comp plans, and quotas, and present the reasoning and math to leadership.Personally own a small book of strategic accounts.Work with Marketing, Product, and Engineering to align go-to-market and inform the roadmap.Must-HavesBased in, or willing to relocate to, Los Angeles, and able to work onsite five days a week.8+ years in B2B sales, including 3+ years directly managing and coaching quota-carrying reps.Experience selling cloud infrastructure, such as cloud hosting, data center infrastructure, GPU compute, or similar technical infrastructure.A record of personally closing large, complex deals, with enough technical depth to earn the respect of senior reps.Experience scaling a sales team and its revenue in a fast-moving environment.Strong forecasting, pipeline, and sales operations discipline, plus hands-on fluency with HubSpot or a similar CRM.Experience designing or managing commission and quota structures.Comfort working in ambiguity and building process with few resources, along with a preference for systems over heroics.Nice-to-HavesStartup experience.Experience with consumption-based or usage-driven revenue models.Two-sided marketplace sales experience.Technical fluency with GPUs, ML infrastructure, or developer-facing products.RevOps depth in areas such as comp automation, attribution, and forecasting tooling.Regional or mid-level sales leadership experience at a large cloud or infrastructure company, and a desire to move into a head-of-sales role.Genuine interest in the future of AI.
