Head of Software Engineering – Enterprise Platforms

We are looking for an experienced Head of Engineering to lead a strategic technology domain supporting core business operations within a global financial services environment.This is a senior leadership role for someone who combines strong engineering expertise with business understanding and has a proven track record of leading large engineering organizations, driving technology strategy, and delivering complex enterprise platforms.Our client is a global organization with a strong technology focus, delivering large-scale digital platforms used by teams across multiple international markets. With a culture centered on innovation, engineering excellence, and continuous improvement, the company is investing in modern cloud technologies, AI-enabled solutions, and high-performing engineering teams to support the next generation of enterprise applications.ResponsibilitiesLead and develop a multidisciplinary engineering organization, including both internal teams and external partners;Own the delivery, stability, scalability, and continuous improvement of critical business applications;Define the engineering roadmap in alignment with business priorities and long-term technology strategy;Provide technical leadership on architecture, solution design, and engineering best practices;Drive modernization initiatives, platform simplification, and technology standardization;Ensure high engineering standards across software quality, automation, security, observability, and operational excellence;Foster Agile delivery practices and continuously improve engineering processes and team performance;Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to translate strategic objectives into scalable technology solutions;Promote the adoption of AI-enabled engineering practices and identify opportunities to improve productivity and business capabilities;Lead, coach, and develop engineering managers and senior technical leaders while building a high-performing engineering culture;Manage strategic technology partners and ensure accountability for delivery and quality.RequirementsExtensive experience in software engineering and engineering leadership;Proven success leading large engineering teams in complex enterprise environments;Strong understanding of modern software architecture, cloud technologies, APIs, integration patterns, and distributed systems;Experience with Agile delivery models, DevOps practices, and software engineering governance;Solid background working with data-intensive platforms, analytical applications, or business-critical enterprise systems;Experience defining engineering strategy, driving modernization initiatives, and improving operating models;Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate effectively at both technical and executive levels;Strategic mindset combined with a hands-on understanding of technology and delivery;Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.Nice to haveExperience working in financial services, insurance, reinsurance, banking, or another highly regulated industry;Exposure to AI, machine learning, or large language model (LLM) technologies within enterprise environments.What we offerOpportunity to lead a strategic engineering organization with significant business impact;A collaborative international environment working with global teams;Exposure to modern technologies, cloud platforms, and AI-driven initiatives;Competitive compensation and benefits package;Hybrid working model and opportunities for professional growth.
