Americas Head of Sourcing, Logistics & Team LeadershipCharlotte, NCNorth America | International Shipments and Marine Ocean, Liquid/Dry Bulk & Barge TransportationPosition SummaryThe Americas Head of Sourcing and Logistics provides strategic and people leadership for the Americas sourcing and international logistics portfolio. The role leads the regional sourcing team, establishes category priorities and governance, develops team capability, and ensures disciplined execution and measurable value delivery. The leader owns strategic sourcing and supplier selection for third-party logistics (3PL) services; commercial governance and performance management of fourth-party logistics (4PL) providers; and sourcing strategies for parcel tankers (liquid bulk), dry bulk carriers, barges, and other priority logistics categories. The role develops competitive sourcing strategies, leads complex tenders and negotiations, manages contracts and supplier performance, and uses market intelligence to improve cost, service, resilience, compliance, and sustainability.The role is a senior member of the Americas Supply Chain leadership team and partners with Supply Chain, Logistics Operations, Manufacturing, Commercial, Finance, Legal, and regional stakeholders to translate business priorities into sourcing strategies, provider selections, contracted service solutions, and accountable execution. The leader builds alignment across functions, develops talent, and creates a high-performance culture grounded in ownership, collaboration, governance, and continuous improvement.Key ResponsibilitiesCategory Strategy and Strategic Sourcing·    Develop and execute category strategies for 3PL sourcing and selection, 4PL services for international shipments, including brokers for chemical parcel tankers, dry bulk carriers, and barges.·    Lead end-to-end sourcing events, including requirements definition, market screening, request for information/proposal, bid analysis, negotiation, award recommendation, and implementation handoff.·    Build fact-based should-cost, total-cost-of-ownership, and scenario analyses to support sourcing and award decisions.·    Use market intelligence to assess capacity, supplier landscape, commercial structures, cost drivers, regulatory developments, sustainability considerations, and geopolitical or operational risks.·    Identify opportunities for consolidation, network leverage, service innovation, and process efficiency across regions and business segments.·    Provide leadership oversight across logistics sourcing categories, ensuring consistent processes, decision quality, stakeholder alignment, and execution discipline across the region.·    Set the Americas sourcing agenda, category priorities, annual pipeline, value targets, and governance model in alignment with business and Supply Chain objectives.3PL Selection and 4PL Management·    Establish clear selection criteria for 3PL providers, including capability, geographic coverage, service reliability, technology, financial stability, compliance, sustainability, and total cost.·    Lead the commercial evaluation and selection of 3PL providers in partnership with business and operational stakeholders.·    Manage 4PL commercial governance for international and domestic shipments, including contractual obligations, pricing, service scope, performance metrics, issue escalation, continuous improvement, and value delivery.·    Ensure 4PL providers maintain effective carrier management, shipment visibility, data quality, reporting, and exception-management processes as defined in the contract and service-level agreements.·    Conduct structured business reviews with strategic 3PL and 4PL providers and ensure corrective actions are assigned, tracked, and closed.Marine Bulk Transportation Sourcing·    Develop sourcing strategies and lead competitive tenders for parcel tankers, dry bulk carriers, and barges.·    Evaluate vessel and barge availability, trading patterns, port and terminal constraints, rate structures, fuel-related adjustments, demurrage and detention exposure, and other relevant commercial terms.·    Negotiate freight rates, charter or service terms, capacity commitments, service-level requirements, and risk-allocation provisions in coordination with Legal, Insurance, Supply Chain, and relevant business stakeholders.·    Monitor supplier performance and market developments to protect continuity of supply, service reliability, and cost competitiveness.Contracting, Performance, and Risk Management·    Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize contracts, pricing schedules, service-level agreements, and framework agreements with support from Legal and other control functions.·    Define and track procurement and supplier performance KPIs covering savings and value delivery, service, compliance, quality, responsiveness, innovation, and risk.·    Identify and mitigate category risks, including capacity constraints, provider concentration, price volatility, service disruption, regulatory non-compliance, and geopolitical exposure.·    Maintain sourcing initiatives and value delivery in the designated tracking tool and provide progress and KPI reporting to procurement and supply chain leadership on the established cadence.·    Support invoice and commercial dispute resolution when contract interpretation, rate application, demurrage, detention, or other provider charges require category-management involvement.·    Evaluate and support implementation of digital sourcing, visibility, and analytics via a Transportation Management System and supplier-performance tools where applicable.Stakeholder Leadership·    Partner with regional and site Supply Chain and Logistics Operations teams to understand requirements and align sourcing strategies with business priorities.·    Present sourcing strategies, business cases, award scenarios, risks, and recommendations to leadership and relevant governance forums.·    Coordinate with Finance, Legal, Compliance, Insurance, Sustainability, IT, and other stakeholders to ensure provider selections and contracts meet organizational requirements.·    Promote cross-regional collaboration, standardization, and adoption of procurement best practices.·    Translate enterprise and regional strategy into clear team goals, actionable category plans, and measurable outcomes.·    Serve as the senior escalation point for complex commercial, supplier, service, and stakeholder matters within the Americas sourcing and logistics portfolio.·    Promote accountability, cross-functional collaboration, ethical conduct, inclusion, and continuous improvement across the team.·    Allocate resources across categories and initiatives based on business value, risk, urgency, and organizational priorities.·    Establish an effective operating cadence for team reviews, sourcing pipeline governance, value delivery, supplier performance, risk management, and escalation.·    Build a strong talent pipeline through capability assessment, development planning, succession planning, knowledge transfer, and targeted exposure to strategic sourcing and logistics initiatives.·    Lead, coach, and develop the Americas sourcing and logistics team, setting clear objectives, priorities, decision rights, and performance expectations.Team Leadership and Organizational CapabilityFunctional Competencies·    Strategic sourcing and category management for international logistics and marine certifications in procurement, supply chain, logistics, or contract management are preferred.Work Experience·    12+ years of progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, logistics, or supply chain, including significant leadership accountability.·    7+ years of category management or strategic-sourcing experience in international logistics, 3PL/4PL services, marine transportation, or comparable categories, with demonstrated experience leading sourcing professionals or cross-functional teams.·    Demonstrated experience leading complex tenders, negotiations, supplier selections, and contracts with measurable value delivery.·    Experience managing strategic logistics providers and formal performance-governance processes.·    Working knowledge of international shipment execution and the commercial drivers of parcel tankers, dry bulk carriers, and barges.·    Experience using Transportation Management Systems, ERP, e-sourcing, workflow, analytics, and Microsoft Office applications; SAP S/4HANA experience is a plus.
