Head of Technology

Role Description The Head of Technology will lead the overall technology vision and operations for PsyEgypt in a part-time, remote capacity. This role includes designing and maintaining the digital infrastructure that supports online communities, events, and knowledge-sharing platforms. The Head of Technology will oversee IT systems, implement security and data protection standards, and ensure reliable access to tools used by members and partners. Day-to-day responsibilities involve managing IT projects, coordinating with content and community teams to develop technology-enabled services, and evaluating new solutions that enhance user experience and scalability. The role also includes setting technology strategy aligned with PsyEgypt’s mission and mentoring volunteers or team members involved in technical work.QualificationsCandidates should possess strong Information Technology skills, including systems administration and familiarity with web-based platforms.Candidates should possess IT Management and IT Operations skills to oversee workflows, support users, and ensure reliable service delivery.Candidates should possess IT Strategy skills to plan, prioritize, and align technology initiatives with organizational goals.Candidates should possess Infrastructure skills to design, maintain, and optimize cloud-based and on-premise environments as needed.Experience with cybersecurity best practices, data privacy, and backup/recovery procedures.Ability to work effectively in a remote, distributed team and communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders.Previous experience in nonprofit, community-based, or educational initiatives is an advantage.Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
