Head of Technology

Role Description The Director role at Gameloops is a full-time, on-site position based in Algiers. The Director will oversee studio operations, set strategic priorities, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to a high quality standard. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading cross-functional teams, aligning game development roadmaps with business goals, and collaborating with stakeholders on budgeting, resource allocation, and performance management. The Director will mentor team members, foster a culture of creativity and accountability, and implement processes that support rapid prototyping and iteration for hyper/hybrid casual games. This role also involves representing the studio in key external relationships and contributing to long-term growth and expansion plans.QualificationsStrong leadership and people management skills, with experience guiding multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.Proven experience in strategic planning, project oversight, and operational management within gaming, tech, or a related industry.Solid understanding of game development workflows, particularly for mobile and hyper/hybrid casual titles, including collaboration with designers, developers, and artists.Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align diverse perspectives toward shared goals.Ability to make data-informed decisions, manage budgets, and prioritize initiatives based on business impact and resource constraints.Experience building or scaling teams or studios is highly beneficial, especially in start-up or growth-stage environments.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Game Development, Management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Comfort working in an international context and multicultural environment; fluency in English required, additional languages are a plus.
