Head of Technology (Software Engineering)

You are not replacing anyone; you are coming in to take the lead.The Head of Technology leads the technology function and is responsible for the development, IT operations and continuous improvement of the company's core technology platforms, with a primary focus on software engineering.You will be responsible for building a team that develops and scales a business-critical platform covering lending, investment, loan servicing, investor administration and unit registry operations.Responsibilities / Key skills:Proven pedigree in software engineeringA career in building high performing engineering teams (circa 10 headcount)Additional expertise across IT Operations, Cyber and Vendor ManagementDevelop and maintain the technology strategy, technical roadmap and annual business planMaintain visibility of technology capability, platform maturity, cyber posture, vendor performance and resourcing needsManage the Lead/Senior Software Engineers and engineering team to ensure development is technically sound, maintainable, secure and business-alignedProvide leadership across architecture, APIs, integrations, infrastructure, testing, release management and production supportEnsure business rules are properly understood, documented and reflected in platform solution designImprove engineering standards, documentation, testing, monitoring, deployment controls and management of technical debtSupport data warehouse, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI and management reporting initiativesManage the IT Operations Manager and ensure day-to-day IT operations are stable, secure and responsiveAssess and manage cyber security, disaster recovery, business continuity and technology risk across business systems and vendorsManage relationships with software vendors, managed service providers, security vendors, consultants and delivery partnersBuild a culture of practical software delivery, technical quality, accountability for technical outcomes, and continuous improvementExperience with AWS, APIs, data platforms, Microsoft 365, Python/FastAPI, React/Next.js or infrastructure-as-code environments would be advantageous Reference Number: 06800-0013500406By clicking 'apply', you give your express consent that Robert Half may use your personal information to process your job application and to contact you from time to time for future employment opportunities.
