This role includes planning and delivering lessons, implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum, and fostering a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment. The Head Preschool Teacher observes and assesses student progress, provides guidance to support each child’s social, emotional, and academic growth, and maintains accurate records and documentation. Daily responsibilities also involve communicating with families about student development, collaborating with other staff members, and ensuring compliance with preschool policies and licensing regulations. The Head Preschool Teacher may mentor assistant teachers, coordinate classroom materials and schedules, and participate in staff meetings and professional development.QualificationsStrong skills in Lesson Planning and Curriculum Development, with the ability to design engaging, age-appropriate learning activities.Background in Early Childhood Education and experience working with Preschool and Kindergarten-aged children.Effective Communication skills for interacting with children, families, and colleagues in a clear, respectful, and professional manner.Knowledge of child development, classroom management, and positive behavior guidance strategies.Ability to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that respects diverse backgrounds and learning needs.Organizational and time management skills to handle multiple classroom tasks and documentation requirements.Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred; relevant certifications or state licensure are an advantage.Prior experience as a lead or head teacher in a preschool or early childhood setting is highly beneficial.
