Our client located in Toronto is looking for a Bilingual Health, Safety and Attendance Specialist to add to their team.What’s in it for you:Salary between $95,000 to $103,000Comprehensive benefitsPension plan4 weeks of vacationRemote opportunity, work in the office 1 day per weekIn this role, you will be responsible for:Developing, planning, and coordinating health & safety and attendance programsCoordinating and managing health & safety incidents, absenteeism, disability cases, and WSIB/worker's compensation files (including managing objections and appeals)Investigating accidents, work refusals, and incidents, and implementing prevention, wellness, and intervention programsEnsuring health & safety policies, procedures, legislation, and collective agreements are being followedDrafting, implementing, and monitoring return to work and modified work programsProducing, analyzing, and sharing health & safety and attendance statisticsProviding advisory support and guidance to managers regarding health, safety, and attendance managementCoordinating and facilitating training and awareness activitiesGuiding and supporting the activities of the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC)Collaborating with internal and external partners, including unions and external organizationsAny other duties as requiredThe ideal candidate will have:Fluently bilingual in both French and English (written and spoken)3-5 years of Health and Safety and/or Disability/Attendance Management experienceUniversity Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, and/or Occupational Health and SafetyMust have JHSC Part 1 Certification (CRSP® / PSAC® designation is considered a strong asset)Superior working knowledge of Canadian Occupational Health and Safety Regulations and disability/attendance legislationStrong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills, with a strict respect for confidentialityProficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel (knowledge of Parklane and SAP is an asset)Experience working within a school board, educational environment, or unionized public sector setting is a strong assetMust have a reliable vehicle to travel to various work locationsSend your resume today to be considered for this position.Please note: the selected candidate will undergo a criminal and vulnerable sector background checkAI Disclosure: We utilize AI-powered tools on job posting platforms for the initial screening and ranking of applications based on job-related criteria.
