The HSE Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and programs to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and promote a culture of safety within the organization. This role involves conducting risk assessments, monitoring workplace conditions, and leading incident investigations to identify and mitigate potential hazards. The HSE Engineer will collaborate with various departments to integrate HSE best practices into operational processes, provide training and awareness programs, and support continuous improvement efforts aimed at enhancing workplace safety and environmental performance.Principal Accountabilities and Key ActivitiesRisk Management: Proactively assess and identify potential health, safety, and environmental risks associated with NAMI Process. Develop and implement comprehensive risk mitigation strategies to minimise hazards and ensure a safe working environment for employees and stakeholders.Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards specific to the 3D printing industry. Ensure that all operations comply with local, national, and international regulations, and lead efforts to obtain necessary certifications and permits.Policy Development: Design and implement effective HSE policies and procedures tailored to NAMI facility's unique processes. Conduct regular policy reviews and updates based on regulatory changes, industry best practices, and operational feedback.Training and Awareness: Develop and deliver engaging training programs to educate employees on health, safety, and environmental practices related to 3D printing technology. Foster a safety culture by promoting awareness and ensuring all personnel understand their roles in maintaining a safe workplace.Incident Investigation: Lead thorough investigations of safety incidents, near misses, or environmental breaches within the facility. Analyse root causes, document findings, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence, promoting a culture of accountability and continuous learning.Monitoring and Reporting: Establish and maintain a robust monitoring system to track HSE performance metrics within the company. Regularly compile and analyse data to prepare comprehensive reports for management, highlighting trends, compliance status, and areas for improvement.Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and quality assurance, to integrate HSE considerations into all operations. Facilitate open communication regarding safety concerns and encourage collaboration to enhance workplace safety and environmental stewardship.Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement effective emergency response plans specific to the risks associated with the processes. Conduct regular drills and training sessions to ensure that all employees are prepared to respond effectively to emergencies, minimising potential impact.Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement by regularly reviewing and enhancing HSE practices based on feedback, incident analysis, and industry advancements. Implement innovative solutions and technologies to improve overall safety, health, and environmental performance within the organization.Education• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.• Relevant professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or OSHA is highly desirable.Experience• Minimum 2 years of experience in Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) management, preferably within the manufacturing industry.• Proven track record in implementing HSE programs and conducting risk assessments.• Experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis methodologies.Qualifications & Skills• Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, standards, and industry best practices.• Proficiency in conducting safety audits, inspections, and compliance assessments.• Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey HSE requirements to diverse audiences.• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.• Proficient in risk assessment, hazard identification, and corrective action planning.
