Health Safety Environment Officer

Job Title: Safety Officer (Civil)Location: Riyadh, Saudi ArabiaPosition Overview:We are currently seeking a diligent and proactive Safety Officer to join our dynamic team.

As a Safety Officer (Civil), you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our personnel, contractors, and the public across our civil construction projects. Your primary responsibility will be to implement and enforce safety protocols, conduct risk assessments, and promote a culture of safety excellence throughout all project phases.

Duties and Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures in accordance with local regulations and industry standards.Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices.Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to address safety concerns and implement corrective actions.Provide safety training and orientation to personnel, emphasizing the importance of hazard recognition and prevention.Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and develop reports with recommendations for preventive measures.Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incident reports.Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and advancements in safety practices, and incorporate relevant changes into our safety program.Foster a culture of safety awareness and accountability among all project stakeholders.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Civil Engineering, or a related field.Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA, IOSH) is must.Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a Safety Officer in the civil construction industry, with a strong understanding of construction safety regulations and practices.Excellent knowledge of risk assessment and hazard identification techniques.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.Analytical mindset with attention to detail and the ability to make data-driven decisions.Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software applications.Demonstrated commitment to promoting a culture of safety excellence.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
