We value people who are eager to improve, contribute, and build a long-term future with us.Job Purpose:The Heavy Equipment Engine Specialist is responsible for the advanced diagnosis, teardown, precision machining/measuring, repair, and complete assembly of complex internal combustion engines on heavy construction machinery. This role ensures optimal engine performance, strict adherence to factory tolerances, and maximum lifecycle reliability. While working across various heavy equipment brands, a strong specialization and technical familiarity with Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) engines is highly preferred. Additionally, the role requires integrated knowledge of modern electronic diesel injection systems to ensure proper post-rebuild calibration and testing.

Duties and Responsibilities

Diagnostic Troubleshooting: Perform advanced diagnostics and failure analysis on mechanical and electronic diesel engines to determine the root cause of engine failure prior to teardown Component Overhauling & Rebuilding: Disassemble, thoroughly clean, inspect, and completely rebuild heavy-duty engines. This includes precision machining, honing cylinders, and replacing or reconditioning cylinder heads, engine blocks, crankshafts, pistons, connecting rods, and turbochargers Schematic & Specification Interpretation: Read, interpret engineering drawings, and exact manufacturer specification manuals for clearance, torque, and timing Electronic Integration: Diagnose, test, and repair electronic engine management systems, including wiring harnesses, sensors, actuators, and Electronic Control Units (ECUs) during the rebuild and installation phases Quality Testing & Calibration: Execute post-rebuild testing, overhead valve adjustments, compression testing, and timing calibrations to ensure the rebuilt engine meets factory performance metrics Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all electrical modifications, software versions, and diagnostic logs using the company's asset Skills and Competencies:Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of internal combustion engine principles, common-rail diesel injection systems, precision machining procedures, and component tolerancesElectronic Proficiency: Strong fundamental understanding of engine control circuits, digital multimeter usage, and reading electronic engine diagramsAnalytical Thinking: Exceptional problem-solving and failure analysis skills with the ability to identify the root causes of engine failures, blow-by, or premature wearPrecision Tools: Proficient in using specialized precision tools including micrometers, dial indicators, bore gauges, torque wrenches, and electronic engine calibratorsSafety & Compliance: Thorough understanding of engine workshop safety practices, heavy engine rigging/lifting techniques, and proper disposal of hazardous engine fluidsRequirementsQualifications & Experiences: Education: Diploma or technical certification in Automobile, Diesel, or Mechanical Engineering Experience: Minimum of five years of hands-on experience as an auto-electrical technician working specifically with heavy construction equipment (e.g., excavators, wheel loaders, articulated haulers) Brand Specialization: Proven track record working with Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) systems and diagnostic software (e.g., Volvo Tech Tool) is strongly preferred Certifications: Certified Heavy Equipment Electrical Technician or equivalent industry-recognized electronics certification is highly advantageousPhysical Requirements:Ability to work in restricted or awkward physical positions while tracing wiring behind panels or under cabsCapability to work in diverse environmental conditions, including both workshopYour Application Process:Your CV will be assessed based on our selection criteria, and candidates who meet the requirements will be invited for in-person interviews.If you do not receive a response from us within 15 days from the application closing date, you may consider your application as unsuccessful.
