Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Location: New Westminster / Greater Vancouver, BC Wage: $48.00–$55.00 per hour, depending on experience Job Type: Full-time, PermanentAbout Hayco Equipment Ltd.Hayco Equipment Ltd. is a well-established heavy equipment rental company serving the Greater Vancouver area for over 50 years.Our fleet includes Hitachi, John Deere, Caterpillar, Kubota and Yanmar excavators, Morooka tracked carriers, hydraulic attachments and specialized equipment including long-reach excavators.We are looking for an experienced Red Seal Heavy Duty Equipment Technician to join our team.Responsibilities· Diagnose, repair and maintain heavy construction equipment.· Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, mechanical and diesel engine systems.· Perform preventative maintenance and equipment inspections.· Complete shop and field service repairs.· Set up equipment and hydraulic attachments for rental.· Perform hydraulic modifications, welding and minor fabrication as required.· Maintain accurate service and repair records.· Ensure work is completed safely and to company standards.Qualifications· Red Seal Heavy Duty Equipment Technician certification required.· Minimum 5 years of heavy equipment repair experience preferred.· Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.· Strong knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems and diesel engines.· Experience using heavy equipment diagnostic software.· Experience with Hitachi, John Deere, Caterpillar, Morooka, Kubota or similar equipment is an asset.· Welding and fabrication experience is an asset.· Valid driver’s licence.· Ability to work independently in both shop and field environments.What We Offer· $48.00–$55.00 per hour, depending on experience.· Full-time, permanent employment.· Company-provided service truck for field work.· Extended health, dental, vision and life insurance.· RRSP matching program.· Paid vacation and time off.· Variety of work across a specialized heavy equipment fleet.· Stable, long-term position with an established company.If you are an experienced Red Seal Heavy Duty Equipment Technician looking for a long-term position working on a diverse fleet of construction equipment, we would like to hear from you.Please submit your resume to Hayco Equipment Ltd.
