The team is dedicated to delivering high-quality work on projects of all sizes and is committed to fostering a supportive, community-focused workplace.Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Heavy Equipment Mechanic role based in Stuart, FL. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will inspect, diagnose, and repair a variety of heavy construction and landscaping equipment, including loaders, excavators, trucks, and related machinery. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing scheduled preventive maintenance, completing mechanical and hydraulic repairs, and ensuring equipment is safe, reliable, and compliant with company standards. The role involves troubleshooting mechanical issues in the field and in the shop, maintaining accurate service records, coordinating with supervisors and equipment operators, and supporting efficient project operations. The mechanic is expected to follow all safety protocols, keep work areas organized, and collaborate with the broader team to minimize downtime.QualificationsCandidates should possess strong skills in Equipment Maintenance and Vehicle Maintenance, including preventive service and routine inspections.Candidates should possess hands-on experience working with Heavy Equipment in construction or landscaping environments.Candidates should possess solid Equipment Repair skills, including mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems.Candidates should possess effective Troubleshooting abilities to diagnose and resolve equipment performance issues efficiently.Relevant experience as a heavy equipment or diesel mechanic, preferably in construction, landscaping, or civil projects.Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work orders.Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to OSHA and company safety guidelines.Physical ability to lift and move heavy parts, work outdoors in varying conditions, and stand or bend for extended periods.Welding and fabricating experienceare required.High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in diesel or heavy equipment mechanics is a plus.Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; CDL certification is beneficial but not required.Other duties as assigned.
