Heavy Equipment Mechanic – Foundation Drilling & Hydraulic Systems

Position: Heavy Equipment Mechanic – Foundation Drilling & Hydraulic SystemsJob Summary:We are looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic specialized in foundation drilling machines, piling rigs, and hydraulic systems. The candidate will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and servicing of heavy equipment to ensure maximum reliability, safety, and minimum downtime.

Key Responsibilities

Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance on foundation drilling machines, piling rigs, and other heavy construction equipment.Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems, including:Hydraulic pumps and motorsHydraulic valves and control blocksHydraulic cylindersHydraulic hoses and fittingsHydraulic oil cooling systemsHydraulic pressure and flow systemsTroubleshoot hydraulic problems such as low pressure, overheating, abnormal noise, slow movements, leakage, and loss of machine performance.Carry out mechanical repairs on:Diesel enginesGearboxes and transmissionsRotary headsWinchesDrilling systemsSlewing systemsUndercarriage and crawler systemsBearings, gears, shafts, and couplingsConduct regular inspection and maintenance of foundation drilling machines and piling rigs, including rotary drilling systems and associated equipment.Use hydraulic pressure gauges, diagnostic tools, and other testing equipment to identify faults and determine the root cause of failures.Read and understand hydraulic circuit diagrams, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals.Carry out hydraulic hose replacement, fitting, routing, and pressure testing.Inspect equipment before and after operation and prepare maintenance reports identifying required repairs and spare parts.Respond to emergency breakdowns at project sites and carry out troubleshooting and repairs with minimum possible downtime.Coordinate with equipment operators to identify machine problems and understand abnormal machine behavior.Maintain proper records of maintenance, repairs, replaced components, and spare parts used.Ensure all repair and maintenance activities are carried out according to manufacturer recommendations and safety requirements.Support major machine overhauls, including dismantling, inspection, repair/replacement, and reassembly of mechanical and hydraulic components.Assist in commissioning, testing, and final inspection of repaired equipment before returning it to site.Required Technical Experience:Minimum 5–7 years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic.Strong experience with foundation drilling machines / piling rigs.Strong practical experience in hydraulic systems and troubleshooting.Experience with construction and earthmoving equipment.Good knowledge of diesel engines and mechanical systems.Experience with hydraulic pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, hoses, and hydraulic circuits.Ability to diagnose faults using hydraulic pressure and flow testing.Experience in major mechanical and hydraulic repairs.Ability to read hydraulic and mechanical drawings.Experience working on machines from manufacturers such as SANY, Sunward, Bauer, Soilmec, Casagrande, XCMG, or similar equipment would be an advantage.Preferred Skills:Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and under pressure.Ability to work at construction and foundation project sites.Good communication and teamwork skills.Ability to prepare basic maintenance reports.Good understanding of equipment safety procedures.Willingness to work overtime and attend emergency breakdowns when required.Education / Certification:Diploma or Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Heavy Equipment Maintenance, or a related field.Hydraulic system training/certification would be an advantage.Manufacturer-specific training or certification is preferred.Key Performance Expectations:The successful candidate should be able to:Reduce equipment downtime.Identify hydraulic and mechanical problems quickly.Carry out repairs correctly and safely.Perform preventive maintenance effectively.Minimize repeated breakdowns.Maintain equipment in reliable operating condition.Support site teams during emergency equipment failures.
