Role Description This remote volunteer role is for a High School Tutor specializing in AP subjects, competitive math, and related academic areas. The tutor will provide one-on-one and small-group support to high school students, helping them master course content, prepare for AP exams, and tackle advanced problem-solving in competitive math. Day-to-day tasks include designing clear explanations and practice problems, reviewing students’ work, offering constructive feedback, and adapting teaching strategies to diverse learning styles. The tutor will collaborate with the Stellar Learning team to refine interactive content on the platform, suggest improvements to guided tutorials, and help create engaging learning activities. This position requires consistent online availability, professional communication, and a strong commitment to student success.QualificationsStrong subject-matter expertise in high school math (including competitive and advanced topics) and at least one AP subject (e.g., Calculus, Physics, Computer Science, or similar).Demonstrated skills in tutoring, mentoring, or teaching high school students, with the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear, structured, and supportive way.Comfort working with digital tools and online learning platforms, including video conferencing, collaborative documents, and interactive problem-solving resources.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to provide clear feedback, model effective problem-solving, and adapt explanations to different learner needs.Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple students, sessions, and content tasks in a remote environment.Genuine interest in education technology, personalized learning, and helping students succeed in AP courses and competitive math settings.Current university student or recent graduate with a strong academic record; prior success in AP exams or math competitions is highly beneficial.
