This role is responsible for providing comprehensive inpatient care, including admission evaluations, daily rounding, coordination of diagnostic testing, and management of acute and chronic conditions. The Hospitalist collaborates closely with nursing staff, specialists, and ancillary teams to ensure safe, evidence-based care and timely discharge planning. Daily responsibilities include reviewing lab and imaging results, updating treatment plans, communicating with patients and families, documenting encounters in the medical record, and participating in quality and safety initiatives. The role may also involve involvement in clinical protocols, peer collaboration, and occasional participation in hospital committees or performance improvement projects.QualificationsGraduate of an accredited medical school with completion of an internal medicine or family medicine residency program.Board certification or board eligibility in Hospital Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine.Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of North Carolina, or eligibility to obtain one.Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and patient management skills in an inpatient setting.Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and communicate clearly with patients, families, and colleagues.Commitment to evidence-based practice, patient safety, and continuous quality improvement.Comfort with electronic health records and standard hospital information systems.Willingness to work a full-time hospital schedule, including possible nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.Prior hospitalist or inpatient experience is preferred but not required for highly motivated, well-trained clinicians.
