El Patio is a true gathering place where generations of guests come together to create lasting memories.Role Description The Host is a full-time, on-site role based in Greater Houston, responsible for creating a welcoming first impression and ensuring a smooth dining experience for all guests. Day-to-day tasks include greeting and seating guests, managing reservations and waitlists, answering questions about the menu and restaurant, and coordinating with servers and other team members to maintain efficient table turns. The Host will monitor the dining room flow, support guest requests, and communicate effectively with the kitchen and bar as needed. Additional responsibilities include keeping the entry and host stand area clean and organized, assisting with phone inquiries, and supporting special events and large parties. This role is essential in upholding El Patio’s standards of hospitality and providing a warm, friendly environment for every guest.QualificationsStrong Communication skills to interact clearly and positively with guests and team members.Demonstrated Customer Service skills, with a focus on hospitality, patience, and problem-solving.Basic Food & Beverage knowledge to answer guest questions and support menu and service understanding.Ability to participate in and support Training efforts for new team members and continuous improvement.Comfort with light Sales activities, such as promoting specials, events, or featured menu items.Previous experience in a restaurant, hospitality, or customer-facing role preferred.Reliable attendance, punctuality, and ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.Ability to stand for extended periods and move quickly in a fast-paced environment.Professional, friendly demeanor and commitment to creating an inclusive, respectful environment for guests and colleagues.
