The Hotel Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the hotel, which includes managing the front desk, housekeeping, food and beverage services, maintenance, and guest services. This role ensures smooth coordination among all departments. The Hotel Manager will supervise staff, maintain high standards of customer service, ensure operational efficiency, and promote sales growth. The Cotton Collection offers a competitive benefit package; our goal is to hire talented individuals with a passion for hospitality.Duties and ResponsibilitiesLead and supervise hospitality teams, providing clear direction, motivation, and support to achieve high standards of guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.Manage hospitality operations budgets, including revenue management, cost control, and financial planning to maximize profitability.Implement and uphold hotel management systems such as Property Management Systems (PMS) and hospitality reservation platforms to streamline booking processes and guest data management.Develop and enforce hotel guest service standards to deliver exceptional customer service experiences that foster guest loyalty.Critically review reports of occupancy, revenue, etc. Make the best judgments and adjust strategies as needed to meet business goals and maximize profits.Handle guest relations by addressing concerns promptly, resolving issues effectively, and ensuring positive reviews.Coordinate with human resources on staffing needs, training programs, performance evaluations, recognition programs, and maintaining a productive work environment.Conduct daily team meetings to communicate/discuss company updates and areas of particular hotel needs to improve performance on daily deliverables.Efficiently manage rooms to keep all guest rooms in service.Help develop annual business goals, budgets, and operational plans that support the hotel's success.Create a professional environment, establishing a strong culture amongst employees to achieve company goals and objectives.Maintain compliance with safety regulations, hotel policies, and industry standards.Be an active member of the local community and maintain a positive public image for the hotel.Physically tour and inspect the property daily.Monitor cost control, property condition, cleanliness, and quality of product and service throughout the hotel.Manage all hotel-specific accounting duties, including payroll, adhering to timeliness and accuracy.Ensure compliance with company policies and all applicable federal, state, and local laws.Perform other duties as assigned.Systems Proficiency: ProfitSword, Hotel Effectiveness, Craftable, and Hospitality PMS systemsKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, business, or a related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience in hotel or resort operations.Strong knowledge of hospitality management principles including revenue management, budgeting, financial operations, and guest services.Excellent managerial communication skills; able to communicate well with customers, guests, and team members.Demonstrated ability to oversee daily hotel operations while managing hospitality teams with professionalism and enthusiasm.Ability to multitask and lead by example.Knowledge of Restaurant and Banquet operations.Ability to deal with guests when they are angry or upset.Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and late nights.Knowledge of local and surrounding communities.Position Type & Expected HoursExempt, full-time, year-roundIn season: 6 days per week (Approximately 50 to 60 hours per week)Work Location:Onsite at Hotel Perry, located in Petoskey, MI
