The role also supports the General Manager in overseeing operational performance and deputising in their absence. Operations ManagerWe are looking for someone who can:Lead from the front and maintain strong operational control across the hotelDrive standards, productivity, service, and profitabilityBuild strong relationships across departments and create a culture of teamwork and accountabilitySupport Heads of Department to improve performance and guest satisfactionHelp shape a consistent, well-run, commercially focused operationKey ResponsibilitiesSupport and oversee the day-to-day operation of the hotel across key departmentsDeputise for the General Manager and take responsibility for hotel operations in their absenceDrive productivity, service quality, guest satisfaction, and financial performanceWork closely with Heads of Department to maintain high standards across Rooms and Food & BeverageMonitor operational trends, standards, and systems to ensure the hotel remains competitiveSupport the delivery of budgets, business plans, and operational objectivesHelp control labour and operating costs in line with budget expectationsLead by example in creating a positive, guest-focused and professional cultureChair meetings and support the Executive team in achieving key business goalsEnsure departments are effectively planned, organised, and aligned with the needs of the businessPromote teamwork and communication across all departmentsSupport service improvements, operational initiatives, and changes in procedure where neededOversee guest complaint handling and ensure follow-up actions are completed effectivelyEnsure hotel procedures, standards, and reporting requirements are followed consistently Operations ManagerRequirementsWhat We're Looking ForProven experience in a senior hotel operations role, ideally as an Operations Manager, Hotel Manager, or senior departmental leaderStrong background in hotel operations, with exposure to both Rooms and Food & BeverageCommercially aware, with the ability to balance service delivery with cost control and business performanceA confident and credible leader who can influence, support, and challenge where neededStrong presence on the floor — visible, hands-on, and guest-focusedAbility to lead in a fast-paced, high-volume environmentExcellent organisational and communication skillsExperience in performance management, team development, and cross-departmental leadershipGood understanding of hotel compliance, health & safety, and people management responsibilitiesResilient, adaptable, and comfortable managing change and operational pressurePeople LeadershipThis role plays a key part in supporting and developing the wider hotel team. You will be expected to work closely with Heads of Department, promote employee engagement, support training and development, and help ensure effective people management practices across the hotel.You will also work in liaison with HR on matters such as recruitment, payroll issues, investigations, disciplinary matters, attendance, and team performance, while helping to reduce turnover and strengthen team capability.
