We continue to expand our global presence through new investments and developments.As part of this strong and growing organisation, we are seeking a Housekeeping Manager to join Rixos Premium Dubrovnik.Purpose of the RoleThis position will lead the housekeeping operation of our hotel in Croatia and will be responsible for managing guest rooms, public areas, service areas and laundry operations in line with Rixos brand standards.The Housekeeping Manager will ensure consistently high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, presentation and guest comfort, while effectively managing the department’s people and operational resources to enhance service quality and operational efficiency.Working in close partnership with the hotel’s leadership team and departmental managers, the successful candidate will contribute to guest satisfaction, team development and the achievement of the hotel’s operational objectives.Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesLead guest room, public area, service area and laundry operations in accordance with brand standards, hotel procedures and guest expectations.Organise daily team assignments and ensure that workflows are carried out in line with job responsibilities, service standards and operational priorities.Plan staffing requirements, shifts and work schedules according to occupancy forecasts, reservations, arrivals and departures, and seasonal operational needs.Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms and public areas to maintain consistent standards of cleanliness, hygiene, presentation, order and equipment functionality.Work closely with the Front Office department to ensure accurate room status information, timely room readiness and the effective fulfilment of special guest requests.Participate in daily operational and departmental management meetings, communicate housekeeping requirements and priorities, and follow through on the resolution of operational issues.Manage laundry operations, including the cleaning, care, storage and distribution of linen and uniforms, ensuring consistent quality and continuity of service.Manage inventories of departmental tools, equipment, linen, guest amenities and cleaning products; oversee regular stock counts, inventory controls, purchasing requirements and replacement planning.Prepare the departmental budget, monitor actual expenditure and improve the cost efficiency of labour, supplies and equipment while maintaining service quality.Partner with Human Resources to manage team recruitment, onboarding, training and performance reviews, supporting professional development, motivation and collaboration.Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and hotel procedures relating to cleaning methods, hygiene practices, the safe use and storage of chemicals, and occupational health and safety.Develop, update and monitor housekeeping procedures and checklists, and implement corrective actions to address findings from quality inspections and audits.Coordinate with the Engineering department to resolve defects and maintenance requirements, and organise deep cleaning and planned maintenance activities in line with operational needs.Review guest feedback and complaints, deliver timely and effective resolutions, and introduce improvements to prevent recurring issues.Ensure that guest privacy, room access, key security and lost property procedures are managed in accordance with hotel policies.Monitor the performance of departmental suppliers and external service providers, ensuring compliance with quality standards and agreed service requirements.Develop practices that improve the efficiency of water, energy, chemical and consumable use, reduce waste and support the hotel’s sustainability objectives.Monitor key indicators, including guest satisfaction with cleanliness, room readiness times, team productivity, inventory losses and departmental costs, providing management with regular reports and improvement recommendations.Qualifications and ExperienceUniversity degree, preferably in Tourism Management, Hospitality Management or a related field.A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Housekeeping Manager or in an equivalent departmental leadership position.Strong understanding of luxury hospitality service standards and the ability to maintain operational quality during periods of high occupancy.Strong operational knowledge and experience in guest room cleaning, public area housekeeping, laundry operations and linen management.Sound knowledge of hygiene standards, cleaning techniques, surface care, cleaning equipment and the safe use of chemicals.Experience in departmental budgeting, cost control, inventory and stock management.Ability to plan staffing, shifts and daily assignments in line with occupancy and seasonal requirements.Strong leadership capabilities in team management, employee training, performance monitoring and professional development.A guest-focused approach, strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain consistently high quality standards.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively across departments and promote teamwork.Strong planning, organisational, prioritisation and follow-up skills.An analytical and solution-focused mindset, with the ability to make effective decisions in a demanding operational environment.Proficiency in hotel management systems, housekeeping applications and digital reporting tools.Ability to work effectively in an international and multicultural environment.Good command of written and spoken English.Croatian language skills are preferred.The role requires the successful candidate to be based and work in Dubrovnik, Croatia. Priority will be given to applicants who already hold a valid legal right to work in Croatia.
