HR Assistant / HR Administrative / HR Support Officer

Role Description The Director at Ecosphere Farms is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Nairobi, responsible for overseeing overall farm operations, strategy, and performance. This position leads planning and execution of agricultural production, resource management, and process improvement, ensuring alignment with sustainability and business objectives. The Director manages budgets, sets targets, and monitors key performance indicators, while guiding teams in day-to-day activities such as crop planning, procurement, and logistics. The role includes building and maintaining relationships with suppliers, customers, regulators, and community partners, as well as identifying new growth opportunities and risk mitigation strategies. The Director is also responsible for developing staff, fostering a safe and inclusive workplace, and ensuring compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental standards.QualificationsProven leadership and management experience in agriculture, agribusiness, or a related industry, with the ability to set strategic direction and oversee operations.Strong financial and business acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and performance monitoring.Knowledge of sustainable farming practices, supply chain management, and regulatory compliance in the agricultural sector.Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.Demonstrated ability in problem-solving, decision-making, and change management in a dynamic environment.Experience in talent development, including coaching, performance management, and building inclusive, high-performing teams.Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Business Administration, Environmental Science, or a related field; an advanced degree is an advantage.Comfort working on-site in Nairobi, with a hands-on approach and readiness to be present in field operations as needed.Familiarity with digital tools for farm management, data analysis, and reporting is beneficial.
