The role will ensure compliance with TAQA Transmission System Safety Rules (SSR), ISO 45001 and project safety requirements, supporting safe operations near live electrical infrastructure.Key ResponsibilitiesImplement the Contractor HSE Policy and Project HSE Plan across all project sites.Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and HSE training; maintain the project training matrix.Conduct regular HSE inspections and audits across 44 backbone sites and 3 lab sites, preparing compliance reports for TAQA and internal management.Coordinate permit-to-work (PTW) requirements for activities in or near live grid stations, substations, underground cable routes, overhead line (OHL) corridors and gantries in accordance with TAQA SSR.Identify hazards, review risk assessments and monitor implementation of appropriate controls for high-risk activities.Lead or support investigations into incidents, near-misses and high-risk observations, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are completed.Support emergency response planning and conduct drills in line with the Contractor Emergency Response Plan.Review subcontractor HSE submissions, monitor safety performance and follow up on corrective actions.Liaise with client HSE representatives, PTW authorities and site teams to resolve safety concerns.Maintain accurate HSE records and promote a proactive safety culture across multiple sites and contractors.Qualifications & ExperienceNEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC), NEBOSH Diploma or an equivalent recognised HSE qualification.Minimum 5 years of HSE experience in power utilities, substation projects or telecom construction.Demonstrated experience working near live electrical infrastructure under formal permit-to-work systems.Working knowledge of TAQA Transmission SSR and ISO 45001 requirements.Experience conducting site inspections, safety audits, incident investigations and subcontractor HSE monitoring.Key CompetenciesStrong hazard identification, risk assessment and incident investigation skills.Confident communication with client HSE teams and permit-to-work authorities.Ability to coordinate HSE requirements across multiple sites and contractors.Proactive approach to safety training, compliance monitoring and corrective-action follow-up.LinkedIn Skills — 10Occupational Health & Safety | Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) | Electrical Safety | Risk Assessment | Permit to Work | ISO 45001 | Incident Investigation | Safety Auditing | Emergency Management | Safety Training
