Apply & track with Apply EdgeJob PurposeTo ensure the safe and efficient execution of operational activities across all ferry and public water transport operations, this role is responsible for implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of HSE programs to safeguard passengers, crew, vessel, terminals and marine infrastructure. This includes the proactive implementation of ADPG HSE protocols, Emergency response requirements and maintaining operational readiness of marine personnel and assets in alignment with SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW95, ISO standards, and OVMSA.About the Maritime ClusterAD Ports Group’s Maritime & Shipping Cluster is led by Noatum Maritime, a globally connected agile entity operating across multiple countries. With a fleet of over 250 vessels and decades of expertise, Noatum Maritime offers a diverse portfolio of services delivering “everything you need on the seas.”Responsibilities Core Responsibilities:Implement ADPG HSE culture and Policies across fleet and shore operations.Perform the Designated Person (DPA) and Company security officer (CSO) responsibilities.Leading and supporting the assets and shore departments in Emergency Response requirementsIdentify, develop, and maintain ADPG health and safety management systems, and procedures in line with all current legislation for the assigned fleet of vessels.Lead ISM and ISPS audits across fleet (local and international), support and follow up on close out of audit findings.Conduct safety inspections of work areas and prepare reports of observed safety hazards, violation of safety rules & regulations, for improvements of safety standards.Represent the company at external audits on all health and safety matters.Ensure compliance with internal and external audit standards and work with auditors to answer findings and complaints in a timely, efficient and professional manner.Design and develop written health and safety procedures. Monitor, revise, and implement ongoing updates in safety regulations, laws or reporting requirementsLead and carry out incident investigations, ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented across the business units and marine assets.Represent the company at any internal safety meetings, customer or supplier safety meetings presenting data, recording actions, and monitoring the progress of those actions.Work with the operational teams to improve the working environment and reduce the impacts to the employee from operational activities as well as recommend process and product safety features that will reduce employees' exposure to work hazards.Inspect facilities, terminals and vessels to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety and environmental regulation compliance. Ensuring that all classed Marine units are complying with Flag state and Class requirement towards ISM, ISPS and OVMSA best practices.Responsible for the co-coordination of risk assessment activities including record keeping. Analysis of risk assessment, near miss and accident data to presenting to the senior management team.Monitor the monthly KPIs including follow-up on open and outstanding actions.Leading and implementing Safety initiatives and campaigns to reinforce safe behaviors.Conduct new and existing business sites and security assessmentsDevelop and deliver safety training programs including emergency drill training to reduce workplace accidents and incidents including assessment of such training activities.QualificationsNEBOSH or associated skill certifiedExperience in a health and safety role, preferably for ferries and public water transport sectorCertified DPA and CSOinternal Auditor of ISM, MLC, ISPS and ISO. Knowledge of IMO Conventions, ISM Code, ISPS Code and ISO9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001.Minimum 5 years of HSE experience, preferably in maritime, offshore, or ferry operations. Required SkillsWritten and spoken English is essential, Arabic is preferredStrong organizational and communication skills.Able to engage and influence at all levels.
