HSES Specialist

Job DescriptionJob Overview:The HSES Specialist applies their conceptual knowledge of HSES and can act with a considerable degree of autonomy. They will have the ability to balance a field-based position and business administrative duties and are comfortable working in a dynamic environment.ResponsibilitiesKey Tasks and Responsibilities:Assist in the development and implementation of HSES plans, procedures and instructionsProvide HSES guidance to frontline supervision and field personnelProvide mentorship and coaching to junior HSES staffAssist in HSES Prequalification subcontractors and vendors Monitor subcontractors and vendors to ensure compliance to safe work practicesParticipate in risk assessments and ensure risk registries are maintained up to dateParticipate and execute HSES activity planDevelop Toolbox Talk (TBT) plan and supporting materialObserve / assist supervision during the delivery of TBTsAssist with the planning of Permit to Work’s (PTW’s), conduct inspections and ensure compliance to PTW controlsAssist in preparing and conducting HSES audits and inspectionsInitiate, monitor, and report on the progress of audit and inspection findingsAssist in the development and implementation of HSES initiatives Assist and participate in emergency response drills, including preparation of reports and inspection of equipmentParticipate in incident investigations and prepare reports as necessaryQualificationsEssential Qualifications and Education:Degree/Diploma or equivalent in HSES related subject5 years of Oil and Gas HSES experience Conversant with local and international HSES laws, codes, and regulations Familiar with all company, facility, and project specific HSES terms, requirements, and deliverablesMaintain key competencies associated with the HSES functionCommunication and presentation skills, both written and spokenGood interpersonal skills Conflict Resolution skills and leadership skillsAbout UsOur ingenuity fuels daily life.
