POSITION TITLE: HR Business PartnerDivision: ShippingLocation: Port MoresbyEmployment Type: Full-TimeThe CompanyOur client who engages in the shipping, transport, property, and commercial operation businesses in Papua New Guinea is looking for a suitable candidate to fill in the role of a Human Resource Business Partner.POSITION PURPOSEWork closely with GMs to plan & manage talent and develop approaches that achieve shared organisational objectives. This will include Industrial Relations and Labour compliance, contributions to management recruitment, reward & welfare strategies and organisational development in respective divisions.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESHR Strategy & Business AlignmentDrive and measure key HR metrics and strategic projects.Support organisational design, workforce planning, and leadership lifecycle development.Act as a strategic advisor to business unit leaders on HR and labour-related matters.Champion people-centric solutions to deliver business outcomes.Talent Acquisition & OnboardingOversee end-to-end recruitment and contracting for permanent hires.Represent the organisation’s value proposition in the hiring process.Participate in selection panels and networking events to attract future talent.Talent Development & PerformancePromote engagement and motivation among key staff.Guide restructures, succession planning, and performance management.Supervise exit processes ensuring accurate final entitlements and timely separation.Workforce ManagementMonitor and improve time & attendance processes.Conduct internal audits and manage leave liabilities.Liaise with payroll and admin teams to resolve workforce issues.HR Reporting & Support ServicesAnalyse data and prepare HR dashboards and reports for decision-making.Manage HR queries and support timely resolution via helpdesk channels.Collaborate with internal HR teams to ensure task completion and process efficiency.Compensation & RewardsSupport compensation planning, benchmarking, and pay scale implementation.Contribute to labour budgeting and annual salary surveys.Stay informed of market trends and update reward strategies accordingly.KEY STAKEHOLDER INTERACTIONSAdvise senior HR and divisional leadership.Collaborate with operational teams, HR support services, contractors, and employees.Influence and support non-citizen staff and corporate departments.QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCEEducation:Degree in Business Management, HR, or a related field.Experience:10+ years in payroll and HR administration.Minimum 5 years in a managerial HR or Finance position.Skills & Competencies:Strong understanding of HR systems, employment law, payroll, and budgeting.Proficiency in stakeholder management, conflict resolution, and change management.Ability to interpret complex issues and communicate in simple terms.Personal Attributes:High attention to detail.Courageous and principled decision-maker.Collaborative with a willingness to learn and improve.Application:Easy Skill Recruitment is representing this opportunity.
