Apply & track with Apply EdgePosition Summary At LOGOS Evangelical Seminary, we are dedicated to Forming Missional Servants for God’s Kingdom and Transforming Global Churches for Christ.We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to serve as a trusted advisor to leadership and managers while leading HR operations, systems, and team development.This role combines people management (60%) and hands-on HR execution (40%), with responsibility for payroll, compliance, employee relations, recruitment, benefits, performance management, training, and organizational development. The HR Manager will help build a scalable HR function that supports staff growth, compliance, organizational effectiveness, and the Seminary’s mission.Key Responsibilities
- Lead and improve HR policies, systems, processes, and team capacity to support organizational growth.
- Advise managers on employee relations, performance, workforce planning, and employee development.
- Supervise and develop HR team members, including HR Specialist, HR Assistant, and future hires.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, and oversee HR records, reporting, audits, and documentation standards.
- Oversee and actively support payroll processing to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance; manage key HR administrative functions and internal reviews, including personnel files, policies, and compliance documentation.
- Oversee benefits administration and compensation practices to support consistency, competitiveness, and compliance.
- Lead full-cycle recruitment, from job posting and candidate selection through onboarding and employee integration, and develop strategies to attract qualified, diverse talent aligned with the Seminary’s values.
- Lead and support role-based employee training and staff development initiatives.
- Manage complex employee relations matters, including conflict resolution and performance concerns, with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Develop and improve performance management systems, including evaluations, goal setting, and employee development, aligned with organizational values and mission.
- Support organizational structure and change management and align HR strategies with long-term institutional goals.
- Promote a healthy, effective, and mission-aligned workplace culture.Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 5–8 years of HR generalist experience.
- Minimum 2–3 years of leadership or management experience; HR Manager experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices and California employment laws.
- Experience in policy development, training systems, or organizational development preferred.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR certification preferred.
- Proficiency in HR systems and general computer applications.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively advise and support managers.
