Detailed Job Description:Design & Trend Development:Research international fashion trends, seasonal color palettes, and global yarn developments to create original sweater concepts and collections.Develop innovative artwork, stitch structures, and swatches tailored for major international buyers (US/EU).Tech Pack & Sampling Execution:Analyze buyer Tech Packs, design sketches, construction details, and measurement specifications thoroughly.Oversee the end-to-end sampling process, ensuring Proto, Fit, Salesman (SMS), and Approval samples are developed accurately and on schedule.Technical & Gauge Expertise:Select suitable yarn counts and compositions compatible with various machine gauges (3G, 5G, 7G, 12G, 14G, etc.).Demonstrate deep practical knowledge of intricate stitch types (Cable, Jacquard, Intarsia, Structural Patterns) and automatic knitting capabilities (Shima Seiki / Stoll).Cost Optimization & Consumption Efficiency:Optimize yarn consumption and design parameters to achieve target fob costs without compromising aesthetic quality.Collaborate with merchandising and costing teams to ensure commercially viable production runs.Team Leadership & Process Management:Manage, mentor, and supervise junior designers, CAD programmers, and sample room technicians.Coordinate closely with Knitting, Washing, and Finishing departments to eliminate technical sample defects.Buyer Communication & Presentation:Present design collections and artwork ideas directly to buyer representatives and buying houses.

Requirements

Educational Qualification:o HSC (Higher Secondary Certificate) or Diploma (Diploma in Fashion Design, Textile Engineering, or any trade course).Experience:o Minimum 05 to 08 years of overall experience in sweater designing within reputed sweater manufacturing factories.o Proven leadership track record as a Senior Designer or Chief Designer.

Technical Skills

o Expert-level understanding of sweater construction, yarn behavior, gauge specs, and finishing treatments.o Functional English communication skills for buyer interactions.Salary:Salary: Negotiable (Attractive compensation package for deserving candidates).
