Human Rights and Environment Due Diligence Manager

Job Description Summary:The Human Rights and Environment Due Diligence Manager is a builder role responsible for designing, implementing, and institutionalizing Golden Agri-Resources’ Human Rights Due Diligence framework across all operations, subsidiaries, and value chains — from own operations through to third-party suppliers and smallholders globally. The role leads the Human Rights Due Diligence Centre of Excellence, advancing the methodology from its current foundation toward full alignment with Indonesian and international regulatory requirements.A distinguishing feature of this role is its mandate to own the nature–human rights nexus: integrating ecosystem-related human rights risks — including land rights, Indigenous Peoples and Local Community access rights, water rights, and Free Prior and Informed Consent for ecosystem-dependent communities — into the Human Rights Due Diligence methodology and salient issue framework.Job Description:A. Human Rights Due Diligence Framework & GovernanceDesign and build the global Human Rights Due Diligence framework aligned with UN Guiding Principles, OECD Guidelines for Responsible Business Conduct, and applicable Indonesian, international and industry regulations.Lead the Human Rights Due Diligence Centre of Excellence: develop and continuously improve assessment methodology to ensure comprehensive coverage across all potentially affected stakeholder groups.Establish governance mechanisms for monitoring Human Rights Due Diligence performance across all operations; support the company’s active engagement in shaping Indonesia’s evolving mandatory Human Rights Due Diligence regulatory landscape.B. Risk Assessment & ComplianceConduct human rights risk assessments across own operations; integrate nature-related human rights risks including land rights, water access, biodiversity-dependent livelihoods, and land title boundary disputes.Identify, analyse, and prioritise human rights risks and impacts using salient issue methodology;Work with internal units to assess Free Prior and Informed Consent compliance for land use decisions affecting ecosystem-dependent communities and Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities.Ensure compliance with applicable international sustainability regulations, industry certification standards, and internal policies; monitor and respond to Indonesia’s evolving mandatory Human Rights Due Diligence regulatory landscape.C. Stakeholder EngagementPartner with and provide advisory support to internal stakeholders to integrate Human Rights Due Diligence into business processes, land use decisions, and supply chain commitments.D. Nature & Biodiversity — Human Rights NexusOwn the integration of nature-related human rights risks into the Human Rights Due Diligence methodology: assess how deforestation, biodiversity loss, peatland conversion, and water stress create or exacerbate human rights impacts on ecosystem-dependent communities, smallholders, and Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities.Monitor and respond to emerging national and international standards linking nature and human rights, including global biodiversity frameworks, nature-related disclosure standards, and evolving industry certification requirements on Indigenous Peoples and Local Community and community rights.E. Capability BuildingDesign and deliver training programmes on Human Rights Due Diligence requirements, nature–human rights linkages, and responsible business conduct for field operations, supply chain teams, and senior management.F. Reporting & DocumentationPrepare global Human Rights Due Diligence reports, dashboards, and risk summaries for management.Support environmental, social and governance disclosures, sustainability reporting, and audit requirements.Maintain documentation of assessments, actions, and compliance evidence.Job Requirements:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Rights, Environmental Social and Governance, Sustainability, or a related field from reputable University.Minimum 7–10 years of relevant experience in Human Rights, Nature Biodiversity, Environmental Social and Governance, Compliance, Sustainability, or Supply Chain Responsibility.Strong experience in Human Rights Due Diligence or equivalent environmental social and governance risk management frameworks.Experience in multinational or matrix organisations preferred.Background in supplier compliance, auditing, or risk management strongly preferred.Excellent proficiency in both written and spoken English."Our company has never levied any fees for the recruitment process nor has it required to order tickets and accommodation through a certain travel agent or certain person"
