Location: Stevenage – hybrid working, three days per week in the officeSalary: £45,000–£50,000Bonus: Up to 10%Contract: Permanent, full-timeWould you like to manage international projects that could make a measurable difference to newborn survival in some of the world’s most challenging environments?We are partnering with a pioneering, award-winning medical technology company to appoint a Humanitarian Project Manager.

This is a rare opportunity to join a growing, purpose-led organisation whose innovative healthcare technology is being deployed across low-resource and emergency settings.You will take end-to-end ownership of several major pilot projects, primarily across Sub-Saharan Africa. Working with international NGOs, humanitarian agencies, funders, clinicians and delivery partners, you will help turn ambitious plans into successful programmes with lasting impact.These initial projects will play a critical role in shaping future large-scale deployments and unlocking significant international funding. You will therefore be joining at an exciting point in the organisation’s journey, with genuine scope to influence how its humanitarian programmes are delivered and scaled.The roleYou will manage three to five complex international projects, typically lasting between six and twelve months. Your responsibilities will include:Managing projects from initial partner planning through to contracting, international logistics, training, installation and ongoing deliveryDeveloping and maintaining project plans, budgets, timelines, risk registers and action trackersCoordinating internal teams and external partners across multiple countries and time zonesMonitoring progress against agreed deliverables and keeping stakeholders focused on key actions and deadlinesAnticipating risks, resolving operational challenges and adapting plans when circumstances changeSupporting the deployment of medical technology into remote and low-resource environmentsPreparing donor reports, project updates, impact stories and other stakeholder communicationsAnalysing project data and lessons learned to improve future programmesContributing to the development of practical project-delivery processes as the humanitarian portfolio growsSupporting the identification and development of new partners and opportunitiesAbout youYou will be a proactive and adaptable project professional who is comfortable taking ownership in a fast-moving environment. You will know how to create structure without becoming overly rigid and remain calm and solutions-focused when projects encounter unexpected challenges.You are likely to bring:Experience managing complex international projects involving multiple stakeholders, countries or regionsExperience within humanitarian aid, global health, international development, healthcare or a related environmentStrong project planning, organisation and risk-management capabilitiesExcellent stakeholder-management skills, with the confidence to work with NGOs, technical teams, clinicians, funders and senior leadersThe ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to a collaborative, multidisciplinary teamStrong written and verbal communication skillsA practical, proactive approach to solving problems and maintaining momentumProficiency with Microsoft Office and project-management toolsExperience delivering programmes in Sub-Saharan Africa would be particularly valuable. Exposure to donor- or grant-funded programmes, monitoring and evaluation, international logistics, humanitarian supply chains or technology-for-development projects would also be advantageous.French or Arabic language skills would be welcomed but are not essential.Why consider this opportunity?This is much more than a traditional coordination role.
