HVAC APPLICATION ENGINEER

HVAC DESIGN & ESTIMATION ENGINEERLocation: Dubai, UAE Company: WAHA AIRWAHA AIR is looking for an experienced HVAC Design & Estimation Engineer to support the design, equipment selection, estimation, tendering, and technical proposal activities for HVAC projects across the UAE.The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems and be capable of handling a project from design review and calculations through equipment selection, quantity take-off, costing, and final quotation preparation.Key ResponsibilitiesReview HVAC drawings, tender documents, specifications, BOQs, RFQs, and project requirements.Perform cooling load calculations and HVAC system design.Prepare equipment selections for VRF/VRV, DX Systems, Chillers, FCUs, AHUs, FAHUs, Package Units, Fresh Air and Ventilation Systems.Perform duct sizing, airflow calculations, chilled-water pipe sizing, refrigerant piping calculations, and ventilation calculations.Prepare and review HVAC layouts, schematics, equipment schedules, and technical drawings.Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and BOQs from tender and construction drawings.Calculate quantities for ductwork, insulation, copper piping, CHW piping, valves, fittings, grilles, diffusers, controls, and accessories.Prepare detailed project cost estimates and commercial quotations.Calculate equipment, material, labor, installation, logistics, testing & commissioning, and subcontractor costs.Obtain and evaluate quotations from manufacturers, suppliers, and subcontractors.Prepare technical and commercial comparison sheets.Identify project inclusions, exclusions, deviations, risks, and potential variation works.Prepare technical submittals, compliance statements, datasheets, and equipment schedules.Coordinate with clients, consultants, suppliers, procurement teams, and site teams.Conduct site surveys and verify existing HVAC conditions when required.Support value engineering and propose technically suitable and commercially competitive alternatives.Support the project team during installation, testing, commissioning, and technical clarification stages.RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.Experience as an HVAC Design Engineer, HVAC Estimation Engineer, or HVAC Design & Estimation Engineer.Strong knowledge of VRF/VRV, DX, Chilled Water, FCU, AHU, FAHU, Package Unit and Ventilation Systems.Strong understanding of HVAC load calculations, equipment selection, duct design, piping design, and ventilation calculations.Strong experience in BOQ preparation, quantity take-off, costing, rate analysis, and tender preparation.Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel.Experience with HAP or equivalent HVAC load calculation software.Revit MEP / BIM knowledge is an advantage.Knowledge of ASHRAE, SMACNA and applicable UAE standards and authority requirements.Ability to read and interpret architectural, mechanical, and MEP drawings.Knowledge of the UAE HVAC supplier and subcontractor market is preferred.Good technical communication and English reporting skills.UAE experience is preferred.
