Role DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled, analytical, and solutions-oriented HVAC Engineer to design, install, maintain, and optimize heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems that ensure efficient, reliable, and sustainable indoor environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing HVAC solutions, conducting system analysis, managing technical projects, troubleshooting equipment performance, and ensuring compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations, and energy efficiency requirements. This role collaborates closely with architects, mechanical engineers, contractors, facility teams, suppliers, and project stakeholders to deliver high-quality HVAC systems across residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities.Key responsibilities include designing, reviewing, and developing HVAC systems including heating systems, ventilation systems, air conditioning units, chilled water systems, cooling towers, heat pumps, refrigeration systems, ductwork, and building automation systems; preparing engineering calculations, technical drawings, specifications, equipment selections, and project documentation; conducting load calculations, energy assessments, airflow analysis, thermal modeling, and system performance evaluations to ensure optimal HVAC design and operation; supporting installation, commissioning, testing, balancing, and validation of HVAC systems to ensure compliance with design requirements and performance standards; troubleshooting HVAC equipment, controls, sensors, compressors, pumps, fans, and mechanical systems to identify and resolve technical issues; performing preventive and corrective maintenance planning to improve system reliability, energy efficiency, and equipment lifespan; collaborating with architects, MEP consultants, contractors, facility management teams, and vendors throughout project development and execution; ensuring HVAC designs and installations comply with international engineering standards, building codes, environmental regulations, and health and safety requirements; utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM), Computer-Aided Design (CAD), building simulation software, and energy management tools to improve design accuracy and project efficiency; supporting sustainable building initiatives through energy-efficient HVAC solutions, green building practices, renewable energy integration, and carbon reduction strategies; monitoring system performance through Building Management Systems (BMS), Internet of Things (IoT) devices, and smart building technologies; preparing technical reports, inspection records, maintenance documentation, cost estimates, and project progress reports; supporting procurement activities by evaluating HVAC equipment, reviewing supplier proposals, and ensuring technical compliance; leveraging automation, artificial intelligence, predictive maintenance, and digital monitoring technologies to improve HVAC performance; and staying informed about emerging HVAC technologies, refrigerants, sustainability standards, smart building solutions, and industry best practices.The HVAC Engineer is expected to combine strong mechanical engineering knowledge with practical problem-solving skills to deliver efficient, safe, and sustainable climate control solutions. Success in this role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, communication skills, project coordination abilities, and a commitment to continuous improvement in building performance and energy management.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related discipline.Strong understanding of HVAC systems, refrigeration cycles, thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, ventilation design, and building mechanical systems.Knowledge of HVAC equipment including chillers, AHUs, FCUs, VRF/VRV systems, heat pumps, boilers, cooling towers, compressors, pumps, and air distribution systems.Proficiency in engineering and design software such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, BIM platforms, HAP, Carrier HAP, Trane TRACE, SolidWorks, or similar HVAC design tools.Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS), Building Automation Systems (BAS), IoT-based monitoring, and energy management solutions.Understanding of international HVAC standards and regulations including ASHRAE, SMACNA, LEED, WELL Building Standard, local building codes, and environmental requirements.Knowledge of energy efficiency, sustainable design, green buildings, low-carbon technologies, and environmentally friendly refrigerant systems.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex HVAC performance issues.Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering and project teams.Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple technical activities and deadlines.High level of professionalism, adaptability, attention to detail, and commitment to engineering quality and safety.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, engineering documentation tools, and digital collaboration platforms.Knowledge of artificial intelligence, predictive maintenance, digital twins, smart buildings, energy analytics, and automated HVAC optimization technologies is advantageous.Professional certifications such as ASHRAE certifications, LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP), Certified Energy Manager (CEM), HVAC Excellence, NATE, or equivalent qualifications are considered advantageous but are not mandatory.Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and staying informed about HVAC innovations, sustainable engineering practices, smart building technologies, energy efficiency solutions, and global engineering standards.
