Team members collaborate with customers to deliver efficient, accurate service and support in demanding operating environments.Role Description This full-time Hydraulics and Diesel Engine Mechanic role is a hybrid position based in Lethbridge, AB, with some work-from-home tasks such as documentation and remote support. Day-to-day responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing hydraulic systems, diesel engines, and small engines on heavy equipment, both in the workshop and at customer sites. The mechanic will perform routine maintenance, component inspections, system testing, and cylinder rebuilds while adhering strictly to OEM specifications and safety procedures. The role also involves troubleshooting equipment performance issues, preparing service reports, coordinating with parts and service teams, and communicating clearly with customers about work performed and recommended repairs.Qualifications Candidates should possess strong skills in Hydraulic Systems, including diagnosis, repair, and rebuilding of hydraulic cylinders and components.Candidates should possess proven capabilities in Small Engine Repair and Diesel engine maintenance for a variety of heavy equipment applications.Candidates should possess hands-on experience in Maintenance & Repair of heavy equipment, including routine servicing and corrective repairs.Candidates should possess advanced Troubleshooting skills to identify mechanical, hydraulic, and engine-related faults efficiently.Candidates should possess familiarity with Heavy Equipment operations and OEM standards such as CAT and KOMATSU specifications.Relevant trade certification or apprenticeship as a Heavy Duty Mechanic, Diesel Technician, or equivalent is preferred.Ability to read technical manuals, hydraulic schematics, and parts diagrams, with strong attention to detail and safety practices.Valid driver’s license and willingness to perform on-site service calls in varying field conditions.Strong communication skills, ability to work independently and in a team, and basic computer skills for service documentation.
