hydrological studies, water-resource assessments, flood-risk analyses, modeling programs, and multidisciplinary water-management projects.The successful candidate will manage hydrologists, engineers, environmental specialists, consultants, and technical partners while providing strategic and technical leadership across water-resources and hydrology initiatives.This role is ideal for professionals with expertise in hydrology, water resources, flood management, groundwater, watershed modeling, environmental engineering, climate science, or hydraulic engineering.🚀 What You'll DoDevelop and implement hydrology and water-resource management strategies aligned with organizational and national objectivesLead hydrological assessments and water-resource studies for infrastructure, urban development, environmental, and industrial projectsManage surface-water, groundwater, rainfall, runoff, evaporation, infiltration, and watershed assessmentsDevelop and review hydrological models for rivers, drainage systems, watersheds, catchments, and flood-prone areasLead flood-risk assessments, floodplain mapping, stormwater studies, and drainage master plansAnalyze historical and real-time hydrological and meteorological datasetsEvaluate rainfall intensity, duration, frequency, storm events, runoff patterns, and extreme-weather conditionsDevelop hydrological design parameters for infrastructure and development projectsCoordinate closely with hydraulic engineers, civil engineers, environmental consultants, geologists, geotechnical specialists, urban planners, and project teamsOversee groundwater-resource assessments, recharge studies, aquifer analysis, and groundwater monitoring programs where applicableAssess water availability, demand, sustainability, and long-term resource risksSupport integrated water-resource management and water-security initiativesEvaluate the impacts of climate change on rainfall patterns, flooding, groundwater, drought, and water availabilityDevelop climate-resilient hydrological strategies and adaptation measuresLead stormwater-management and sustainable drainage initiativesEvaluate nature-based solutions, water-sensitive urban design, retention systems, infiltration solutions, and flood-control measuresReview technical reports, hydrological models, calculations, maps, drawings, specifications, and engineering recommendationsEstablish technical standards, methodologies, quality-control procedures, and modeling protocolsManage hydrology consultants, survey contractors, laboratories, monitoring specialists, and external technical providersDevelop project scopes, budgets, schedules, resource plans, and technical deliverablesMonitor project performance, technical quality, costs, risks, and deadlinesEnsure hydrological studies comply with applicable UAE water, environmental, infrastructure, planning, and development requirementsCoordinate technical approvals and requirements with relevant government authorities and project stakeholdersDevelop hydrological databases, monitoring networks, GIS systems, and data-management frameworksUse GIS, remote sensing, digital modeling, and advanced analytics to improve hydrological assessmentsEvaluate emerging technologies including AI-based hydrological forecasting, remote sensing, IoT monitoring, digital twins, and automated flood-warning systemsPrepare technical reports, feasibility studies, master plans, executive presentations, risk assessments, and strategic recommendationsProvide expert advice to senior management, developers, government stakeholders, and project teamsLead and mentor hydrologists, water-resource specialists, engineers, and technical staffIdentify opportunities to improve water efficiency, flood resilience, environmental performance, and project outcomesDrive continuous improvement in hydrological modeling, data quality, technical standards, and water-resource management✅ What We're Looking ForBachelor's degree in Hydrology, Water Resources Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field5–10+ years of experience in hydrology, water resources, flood management, environmental engineering, or related fieldsProven experience managing hydrological studies, water-resource projects, and multidisciplinary technical teamsStrong knowledge of hydrological processes, rainfall-runoff modeling, watershed analysis, groundwater, and flood-risk assessmentExperience with hydrological and hydraulic modeling softwareStrong understanding of water-resource planning and climate-related hydrological risksExperience managing consultants, contractors, budgets, schedules, and technical deliverablesStrong analytical, technical, project-management, and communication skillsAbility to interpret complex hydrological data and translate findings into practical engineering and management solutionsStrong understanding of the UAE's arid climate, hydrology, and water-management environment is highly desirable🌟 Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree or PhD in Hydrology, Water Resources Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Hydrogeology, Civil Engineering, or a related disciplineProfessional engineering or hydrology certification/registrationStrong proficiency with HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, MIKE SHE, MIKE FLOOD, MODFLOW, or equivalent hydrological and hydraulic modeling platformsExperience with ArcGIS, QGIS, remote sensing, satellite data, LiDAR, and spatial analysisKnowledge of flood-frequency analysis, stochastic hydrology, rainfall-runoff modeling, groundwater modeling, and climate projectionsExperience developing flood hazard maps, drainage master plans, flood-warning systems, and climate-resilience strategiesKnowledge of UAE and GCC water-management policies, environmental regulations, and infrastructure standardsExperience working with UAE municipalities, water authorities, infrastructure agencies, or major developersPrevious experience working across the UAE and GCC is an advantageExperience with major infrastructure, urban-development, transportation, utilities, coastal, or environmental projects is highly desirableKnowledge of water scarcity, groundwater sustainability, desalination, water reuse, and integrated water-resource management is an advantageFluency in English
