Job Title: Hydrotherapist Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab EmiratesDepartment: Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation / PhysiotherapyEmployment Type: Full-time Position Summary: The Hydrotherapist will deliver specialized aquatic rehabilitation services to patients recovering from musculoskeletal, neurological, orthopaedic, and post-surgical conditions. Operating within Abu Dhabi’s healthcare standards, the role involves conducting comprehensive patient evaluations, executing aquatic therapy sessions in temperature-controlled hydrotherapy pools, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary clinical team to support patient recovery.Key Responsibilities 1. Clinical Care & Treatment Perform clinical screenings to evaluate patient suitability for aquatic therapy, verifying contraindications (e.g., open wounds, cardiovascular instability). Design and execute tailored hydrotherapy programs using buoyancy, hydrostatic pressure, and resistance techniques. Safely guide and assist patients into and out of the pool using specialized hoists, ramps, and transfer equipment. Monitor real-time physiological responses (heart rate, fatigue, pain levels) and adapt exercise intensity accordingly. 2. Regulatory Compliance & Documentation Maintain accurate patient medical records, treatment plans, and progress reports in accordance with Department of Health (DOH) Abu Dhabi standards. Coordinate closely with referring Physiotherapists, Orthopaedic Consultants, and Physiatrists to align aquatic care with land-based therapy goals. Educate patients and family members on therapeutic benefits, water safety, and home exercises.3. Health, Safety & Pool Maintenance Ensure strict adherence to Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre (ADPHC) and facility infection control guidelines. Monitor and document pool chemistry parameters (pH, free chlorine, water temperature maintained at 32^\circ\text{C} - 35^\circ\text{C}) prior to clinical sessions. Enforce pool-deck safety protocols, emergency response readiness, and proper sanitation of aquatic equipment.Required Qualifications & Certifications Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Physiotherapy (BPT) or Physical Therapy from an accredited institution. Licensure: Active DOH (Department of Health – Abu Dhabi) License or DOH/HAAD DataFlow Verification + Exam Pass Certificate as a Physiotherapist. Certifications: Certification in Hydrotherapy / Aquatic Therapy (e.g., IATF, ATRI, or equivalent). Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR Certification. Water Rescue or Lifeguard Certification (Preferred). Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of clinical physiotherapy experience, with at least 1 year dedicated to aquatic therapy/hydrotherapy in a hospital or rehabilitation center.
