The organization values quality, innovation, and practical problem-solving in both its apparel and its technology operations.Role Description The IBM i Manager / Developer is a full-time remote role, with some travel to our US, Nicaragua, and Mexico locations. This role oversees the IBM i (AS/400) environment, including system administration, performance monitoring, and ensuring reliability and security for core business applications. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining RPG and CL programs, supporting ERP and other business systems, and troubleshooting issues across development, test, and production environments. The position collaborates with operations, finance, manufacturing, and IT teams to analyze requirements, enhance existing applications, and integrate new solutions that support apparel manufacturing and distribution processes. The IBM i Manager / Developer also participates in change management, documentation, and user support, while recommending technical improvements to streamline workflows and data management.QualificationsStrong IBM i / AS/400 background, including system administration, performance tuning, and security management.Hands-on experience with RPG (RPG II, III, IV / ILE), CL programming, and related IBM i development tools.Skilled in database design and maintenance on IBM i, including DB2, query tools, and data integrity practices.Experience supporting ERP or similar business systems in a manufacturing or distribution environment.Ability to gather requirements from stakeholders, translate business needs into technical solutions, and document changes clearly.Familiarity with integration techniques, data exchange, and batch/interactive processing on IBM i.Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, with a focus on reliability, scalability, and user support.Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid setting with cross-functional teams.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience.Experience in apparel, retail, or manufacturing industries is a plus, as well as exposure to modernization efforts (APIs, web front-ends, or other integration technologies).
